I know its not much, but for a first timer this is the best I could do.
Don't worry you can build up for next time
2g's ain't nothin' to frown at pal. My first trip to Vegas I only came with $500 and left with a couple grand. It's all relative. Just manage it wisely!
Agree man, my BR is usually between 1500 and 3k depending on my trip. My first one was maybe $800.
Yayyyyyy! Good luck and have fun!!!
Its the picture at the end of the trip that matters
Good luck, thats what I took. Was there for 5 days six nights. It only lasted 4.
Nothing to sneeze at in college I used to head to Tunica with 50-100 bucks and red chip it. Had a blast. Good luck and enjoy Vegas!
O Christmas tree O Christmas tree LOL
Good Luck! What are you playing? That has a lot to do with it too. I flounce around with 1K at poker and do alright for days (sometimes ).
Thinking to start with some video poker, move on to some craps, some BJ, maybe baccarat, few slots, some texas holdem.
Why not stop by Main Street Station on Saturday at 7pm; hang out with a bunch of degenerate gamblers...
Our first trip we had a BR of 500 bucks to be split between my husband and me. Blew it all in the first day, but had a great time. You will be fine and 2k is not small. Have fun!
Used to do the same thing with 2-300 while going to AC. We used to drive back and go straight to class lol.
I'd been to Vegas as a minor, but Tunica was my first actual gambling experience when I was in college. I think I went with about $100...
You are a first timer! That is more than enough. Good for you.. I remember when I was 21 telling my friend the only way I could go is if he let me borrow 500 bucks. I also remember not having a dime coming home. Calling my girlfriend collect to have her pick me up at the airport. Man that was the worst feeling. Have a great time but be careful. You might just like it!
LOL..............so that's what a "starter degen" looks like!!
Absolutely. I had the "fever" all through my 20s. They really hooked me. Obviously I did it to myself. Live and learn newmans.
Waaaaay back in the day (early 80s) I would fly out with $500 & play $5 & $10 blackjack at the Stardust... win enough to pay for my airfare, cabs & parking, and fly back home. (No room or meal costs).
Winning $300 with a $500 bankroll isn't really all that tough... think about it - 40 hours (3-night trip) of gambling/$500 = $12.50 an hour.
With about 70 hands an hour, at an average bet of $10, all I needed to do was to win 1.25 net 'base-bets' per hour on average.
These days, my normal trip bankroll is very similar to yours...& I've been going for 35 years... there was a time when it was higher, but along about the time I moved from the Strip to Downtown, I pretty much started sticking with a $2200-$2500 bankroll for each trip... (I bring $700 and ATM out $500 each day that I'm there, only hitting the ATM on my departure day if I'm almost out of money...as in less-than-$500). I always make sure I have at least $200 on me when I board the plane to come home.
Interestingly, most of my winning trips still only average about $300... but I win a lot more often than I lose... I still have a good overall winning record!
Good luck to you! Have fun!!
Back from vegas, will write a trip report tonight, here is the takehome pay, not much but figured to stop while we were ahead, very conservative bets, lost a fortune on roulette, but had an amazing streak at the craps table thanks to this one awesome shooter she saved us. Bought in to the table with 300 after losing 700, then ran it up to 40 green chips and after the color up 10min later we had a yellow chip in hand.
