Wow... Where do I begin? At the beginning is the best place to start I reckon. A group of 10 southerners have decided to take on Vegas and a show shall soon follow. In honor of being 103 days out we are starting our pre-trip report.

First things first: The Cast of Characters
    2nd: the Origin Story
3rd: The Vegas Plan of Attack
    4th: Individual Goals

    Cast:
DD Vegas: A Vegas Virgin, DD is a Blackjack player at his local casino and enjoys adult beverages. He's a total team player who will always go with the flow to keep harmony amongst the group. A true servant of the people as a high school educator, DD has a good time when everyone else has a good time... Or when he is drunk, which in Vegas will be constantly.

BYU: Most likely the craziest of the bunch. When teamed up with DD Vegas there are no limits to what shenanigans they get can get themselves into. BYU is a craps aficionado who refuses to play any other game. His motto in life is Heaters and Heaters. Also has been known to smoke anything that will light on fire. As long as he stays away from Fireball we will be okay. A fellow high school educator and coach this Vegas Virgin will push things to the limit and beyond.

Milkman: also could be known as Miller light man as that is his beverage of choice. Milkman possesses many talents, first and foremost is his ability to stay coherent when inebriated. His love of the finer whiskeys and Bourbons have honed the skills as well. Mainly a blackjack player, the milkman will play most any game of chance and have a blast doing it.

The Captain: The lone voice of reason in this group, the captain is a veteran of one previous Vegas trip. Captain will be relied upon to provide wisdom and guidance to those of us that will be intoxicated for the majority of the trip. Is ability to speak drunkenese is a huge asset to our team. Hey blackjack player by trade, the captain will play in a game of chance to keep an eye on the rest of his crew.

    Cast to be Continued.....

TP Romo: gets his name from his two great loves- Toilet Paper because that's how he earns his $ and Romo for his affection for the Dallas Cowboys quarterback. Despite his full-time position selling TP, and his 2 part time jobs on top of that,TP Romo has never worked a full 40 hour week in his life. Instead, he is one of our area's finest amateur golfers and spends his free time practicing. TP loves to gamble and is bringing a sizable bankroll to make his mark on Vegas. TP is a non-drinker, which is fine by us! More people to babysit us and more alcohol!

Doc- the Doc is really no Doctor at all, merely your average run of the mill dentist. Doc may have gone to medical school, he may be married with 2 kids... But his only real love in life is gambling! Doc is a veteran of 3 previous Vegas trips with me and countless others... like a few of you on this board he has been known to fall victim to the allure of Roullette. As long as we keep the doc off the Roullette table and off the sauce, this will be a successful Vegas trip.

Teddy VolGame: if there is sport being played somewhere in the world, Teddy probably had money on it. A masterful sports gambler akin to Billy Walters, Teddy knows his way around a casino. A veteran of 2 trips with me, Teddy also has been known to take down 54 oz steaks at Prime without breaking into meat sweats. Ok, maybe a couple beads of sweat, VolGame enjoys a beer or 12 and will be found in a sportsbook during the hours of 9am to 10pm PST.

KB- not much is known about this mystery figure besides- he loves to drink, he loves sports, and he loves to gamble!!!! All 3 qualities I hold in the highest regard. Best friends with BYU since childhood, KB will be bringing the 2nd biggest bankroll to inflict his damage upon Vegas. As long as we don't let KB, BYU, and DD wander off by themselves we should be ok. Otherwise, we won't see them till morning and they will come back with glitter all over themselves and one dollar bills in their pockets.

Pops- my father and friend. Pops has toned down the gambling since his heyday but loves a game of chance. Known back in the day to sit at BJ tables for hours on end drinking his manly Cosmopolitan, Pops mainly plays poker these days. I have threatened to kick him out of my room if he snores like he normally does. A veteran of
Countless Vegas trips, Pops goes with the flow... As long as that doesn't require him to walk to far. He has been known to grab a cab from the Bellagio to the Cosmo instead of getting a bit of actual exercise. Love you pops.

The Guru (me): if there is a game of chance, I have played it and lost $ on it. I love to gamble. More than that I love sharing Vegas and new experiences with my buddies. Known to spend days at a time in the High Limit rooms, I will try and do the more "touristy" Vegas this trip. With a sizable bankroll, my goal is to generate enough theo to take care of the majority of friends on this trip with comps. I fell in love with this city at 24 during my 1st visit as an adult and have been back 30 something times in the 10 years since. Vegas giveth and Vegas taketh away, but it will always be my home away from home.

    Next up: the Origin Story

The preparation for this Vegas trip began just like any other; the day after the previous one ended!!! The Doc and I just returned from our annual pilgrimage to Mecca when I felt the urge to start planning next years trip. You see, before kids I was able to get out to Vegas 2 to 3 times per year... That ship has sailed. Since I now have 3, six and under I am relegated to once a year. The plus side of fewer trips? A bigger bankroll and blowout for the one trip a year!!!

I am fortunate to not have to use any money I make from my normal day to day job as part of my Vegas bankroll. For the past five or so years I have had what we will call a "side job" that deals in strictly cash. It has let me experience some of the finer things Vegas has to offer and share it with my buddies. My home base is the Cosmopolitan even though their blackjack rules suck and they have taken away free play for mid size rollers like myself. I just enjoy their rooms and restaurants too much to leave them. Plus my host, DM, has always been more than fair to me.

Anyways... The doc and I were looking for some new blood, so I asked my buddy Milkman if he wanted to join us on this trip. The Milkman had previously gone on a March madness trip to break his Vegas cherry and could not wait to get back there. His immediate response was, "I would love to, but it kind of depends on how this bachelor party trip to the casinos in Cincinnati goes". Well, I wasn't hopeful since bachelor parties and gambling tend to end poorly but I held out a glimmer of hope.............

I knew the Cincy bachelor party would be epic when me (DD Vegas) and the Milkman had consumed roughly 20 beers before we hit the Kentucky state line. Our boy, TP Romo, had invited us to a bachelor party and I'm not sure he fully knew what he was getting himself into. We rolled into the Shoe with our typical Bandit bravado and small bank roll. This night turned into an epic run of beers, blackjack, and beers, and more blackjack.
We managed to run 3 dealers out of a job on our way to a combined 10k night for the 3 of us. Yes, I said 10k. TP is our resident babysitter and also parlayed that responsibility worth being our unifficial bank for the evening. The beers flowed almost as smoothly as the chips in his pocket. We began our festivities at about 7:30 on Thursday night and had to be pried from the table the next morning around 7:00 am. With fat stacks in hand, we stumbled back to the room for a little shut eye.
I arose at roughly 1:00 pm and attempted to remove the sledge hammer from my forehead. It was hard to remove with that wad of freaking cash that was glued to my hand...
Needless to say, it was easy pickings when the Milkman mentionesd a trip to Vegas with the legendary Guru and his crew. Let the #BLV2015 begin!
