Bally's South Tower, what's it really like vs. North?

We have resv for the south tower which looks closer to the strip than the north tower. What are the rooms like and are any of them recently/currently being renovated? Since we have 6 room reservations we'd prefer to stay in that tower with the rest of our family. What type of better room could I potentially get if did the $20 trick? Is it worth it for the south tower and are there any rooms with a good strip view from south tower?

    Thanks in advance!

    I've stayed in both recently.

The North Tower rooms are definitely nicer and more recently renovated.

South Tower rooms are not bad, but are starting to show a bit of wear. NBD, really, the one we had was clean and comfortable and everything worked.

South Tower is closer to the Strip, North Tower is closer to the shops and parking.

View from the South Tower was better, but YMMV.

Book the free south Tower and tip the check-in clerk $20 for an upgrade.
