Went with my hubby and my son and his wife. We all stayed at Ballys the first two nights, then the kids moved to Mirage for the last three, all comped to myself and my hubby. Check in was smooth and we got upgraded to a jubilee room, no view, but nice. Good beds, clean small bathroom, but the kicker for me was having a fridge! We always pack a fan, and we needed it with the construction going on there. The walking was no problem if you plan to go there. My son got upgraded to a north tower grand with the hot tub, and tipped twenty as I did for the nice room. He did complain the beds were not very comfortable there though, but they love the hottub. I have to say, I didn't expect a lot from Ballys but the room was very clean, staff were all polite and efficient. I liked that the casino was not so large that we couldn't find each other, workers were all very friendly, and quick drinks. The first night we played, I lost constantly, until I saw a five line Wheel of Fortune dollar machine. Took my last 100 budgeted, and hit 1250!!! My first taxable win in fifteen years!! I was so excited! And I had just seen a guy hit this same machine two hours earlier for a large hand pay. If you are in Ballys, it is one to try for sure. I saw it consistently paying more than the other machines the entire trip. We went to Mandalay Bay for myvegas buffets and to see the shark reef free. I have to say, I would never have paid to see it, but it was okay for free. The buffet was very good there, but the location of this hotel makes me think I wouldn't want to stay there. The walking made my feet swell as always, but I kept on trucking, too much to see and do. The site of the strip amazes me always. I am in awe of the Bellagio fountains and the beautiful buildings.Weather is perfect in April! The hubby won two poker tournaments at Caesars, he likes them there. He lost two at Bally's, the players are crazy there. My son also played some no limit and won, he also says they are wild players there at night! I played slots and let it ride and three card poker, won a straight flush, and won a big 400 on that one so it was a thrill! We went to Hilton the second day for my son to bet on the MMA fights, that place was dead, and old and dingy. I didn't care for it at all, last visit there for sure. The last day was spent at the Mirage, the sportsbook was great there and they had the mma fights for him. I was amazed at the buffet, it was very good and had steamed crab legs both times we ate there, thanks to myvegas! My daughter in law and son liked the characters who were on the strip and took a couple of pictures , nothing you could do but laugh! There was the guy with nothing on but underwear and a cupid arrow, she took pics with him but I can't figure out how to post pictures on here. Another was the one who wanted twenty dollars to kick him in the privates, and shared with him that the reason he can do this was because he had no testicles. Nice info to share with a stranger!haha We had a blast at Casino Royal, a dump but fun! They had the 1.99 hot dogs and 1.00 beer that they had a bunch of. I like the three card poker table where you can bet pairs plus and six card bonus bet, without having to bet the ante and play bets. It's a cheap place on the strip to hang out. As we walked out though, there was a cosmetic and skin care store and the guy offered me a sample, warning, do not accept the sample!!! I took it and before I knew it he was pulling me in the store saying he had some eye cream samples for me and sat me in the chair. I explained that we had to be somewhere and I had to go but this pushy lady with a heavy accent started putting cream under my eye and told me about my lines and how they would get worse and how she would offer me a special of 119.00 and I stopped her and said look, we take cash out each day of our budget and I don't have that much left so I am leaving and I got up and she actually got in front of me and said, "Don't you have cards in your purse?" Ugh! I said no and I walked out and had to literally walk around her. So word to the wise, don't take the sample!!! haha My best time of the trip was the last night, hubby already went to bed, and I was on my last 200. Hit nothing on let it ride, walked over to the same five line wheel of fortune machine, the five times pay one, and put my last forty in. Almost gone, I got the spin symbols and spun the wheel. I hit 2000!!! Another hand pay and it put us up for our trip so it only cost us 400 for the entire five nights! Woohoo!! Talk about exciting! Now we are back to myvegas playing and reading message boards, dreaming of the next trip like Vegasaholics!
