I'm headed to Las Vegas this Sunday and I'll be staying at Bally's. I'm taking my laptop with me because of the resort fee, I'll get internet access. The hotels web site states that it has data ports to connect to the internet. What type of cable do I need to bring to connect there?

Bally's has wired ethernet connections. Connect the plug to your laptop, no additional cable required. I have had rooms at Bally's that had WiFi as well as the ethernet connection but don't rely on it.

Not needed. Bally's has the cable on a 'reel'. You just pull the cable and connect it to the laptop.

My briefcase has held an ethernet cable for at least 20 years. Replaced a few times when I left it in a hotel, but.... it is always there. 10 ft is better than some short little thing.

How do you spot the IT guys? They're the only ones laughing at this joke.

They are laughing at the joke, only after they check to make sure all their cables are compliant with T-568B standards.:nworthy::nworthy::nworthy:
