Was literally just informed that, as of today, Bally's (and I assume all other Caesars properties) have gone to an automated drink comp program at the casino bars. Now I kind of want to stay up and see how much play it takes to get another drink.
And I literally got another beer already just playing quarter vp consistently. Was asked a few minutes back. While it might be kind of annoying, I can't imagine this one having any real effect.
Not all of these bar top drink comps are created equal though. Lots of discussion about recent changes here too: https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/latest-on-cost-cutting-drinks.133620/ Are they using the "lights" system at Ballys?
I'm flying in tonight staying at PHO for tonight and will be venturing to my usual bars. I'm going to be pissed if this made it's way to Tag bar because even with those crappy paytables it's still one of my favorites. I play consistently at quarters but I don't button mash so if it is installed I wonder how that will effect me.
This is how they will start the program, at first it will be relatively easy to earn because they don't want to upset people with the changes. Then over the next few years, the screws will get tightened, and the complaints will start being posted as the criteria for free drinks increases. I posted about a year ago at the time of the first report of a ticket for drink program, that this was not going to be isolated, and I said it will spread to many/most casinos. We are still in the early stages of this spreading to other casinos. Eventually this drink voucher program will be instituted for slot and VP on the casino floor too. It may take 3 years or so, but it will be here.
This system is in full affect at the Venetian. With the better pay tables on the floor, what's the point of hitting the bar?
