In the past, I've enjoyed playing the big electronic blackjack machines, often they would have great rules. On this trip, most of the ones I checked at MGM properties have really downgraded. The best one I found was at Excalibur and it was only 6/5 for blackjack.

But, most were only paying even money for blackjack. Checked at Mirage and Aria $5 minimum and 1/1 for blackjack. Just obscene. Excalibur had one paying 6/5 and one paying 1/1 back to back. At least these were a bit lower minimums.

They have also cut the odds bets on the Shoot to Win craps to double odds.

Do you get slot ponts for those machines?

I would suggest you not play them, go somewhere else where they respect your business.

I didn't even check on points. It was just meant as a warning. Last March, the 6/5 machine at Excalibur paid 3/2 and had DAS, Surrender, etc. and earned points. It was a good play, now, not so much.

I had a great time on that Excalibur one last May; it was still 3/2 then, too. Constantly being reminded "don't forget about the side bets!" by the dealer. :)

Even-money ones? Wouldn't even consider 'em. Good gracious. :nono:

Yes, I played quite a bit if video black jack at the Aria on my last visit and it all added up as slot points on my Mlife account. So much so it ended up getting me that four free night offer that is going around right now.
