I used to go once or twice a year for years but haven't been there for over 4 years now. A friend asked if I wanted to go this December and of course, I jumped at the chance. Naturally all my "free" offers dried up a couple of years ago but I thought I'd check out if Harrah's would comp me since it will be December and slow when we're there. Well, they came through for me at Bally's. Never stayed there so I have no idea if it's bad but actually I don't care, not in the room much. They are comping me Sat/Sun and $15 for Monday. I'm happy. Of course, I have never even broke even on a trip there so I'm enjoying my "happy" state of mind now while I can....:peace:

Bally's is pretty nice. Large rooms, center strip. Clean, comfortable. Amenities may be lacking a bit... Some rooms still have tube tvs. But as a place to lay your head if you will be mostly on the strip, it should be just fine.

Hi Sue! Welcome back to Vegas! I'm in Frisco. :)

If you plan on going back to Vegas...try some off-Strip properties. You might find the higher returns may help you to break even. Nothing guaranteed, but percentages are generally better of Strip properties.

I'd love to try some casinos outside the strip but the friend I'm going with isn't interested in renting a car. Are there still shuttles available. Is there a place online I can check them out?

    Thanks for your response.
