I have a question about booking 2 back to back reservations via Mlife and/or direct with MGM Grand. I can go about this in two different ways, and want to know if anyone has an opinion on the “safest” way to do this.

We’re traveling in May, Wed.-Sunday (4 nights). Weekends are obviously way more expensive. I’m Mlife Gold, my wife is Pearl. My Spring offer is for $50 free play, $25 resort credit, and 1 night comp at MGM Grand. If I attempt to book the offer for 4 nights, the comp night is the cheapest night (Wed.). However, if I book just the two weekend nights, Fri/Sat., it comps Friday, which is a $325 value, vs. the $65 value of Wed. night.

I could then do one of two things, either have my wife book her “offer” (just a room discount) for Wed./Thurs. @ $65/night, or just book a second offer, not via Mlife, either in my name or hers (there’s an offer on the MGM page now for the Wed/Thurs, plus 2 buffets for $80/night, which is comparable to my wife’s Mlife discount).

Any harm in doing that? I assume at check-in they could combine reservations so we wouldn’t have to check out and back in, since we’d reserve the same room category for both reservations.

Second option would be for me to book 2 back to back reservations just under my name through Mlife, assuming it would let me do that, with one being the Spring Offer/comp night for Friday, and the other being my regular “tier discount”. I wasn’t sure though that somehow they’d combine my two reservations and I’d still end up with Wednesday as the comp night.

This one is easy, champ. Call VIP services. They will set you up. That is what I did before I got a host. And don't worry, they won't "note your account" for cheating or anything. Just give em a call and they will help!

Thanks, I wasn't sure if calling was the best idea, or if trying to keep it on the "down low" was better. I don't have a host or anything to run this by.
