    My Trip Report

Hello all, it's nice to be back in Sin City again and even nicer to be ahead on the first day!

Won my first bj session this morning, lost that back on the horses. Lousy first round on my vp tournament, too. After going on a supply run, I had an early dinner - prime rib special at the Cal.

After putting the drinks on ice back at the room I went down to the quarter 10/7 DB, & it only took me 10 minutes to hit this:

    Hope the photo link works!

Won $2 in points at Palace Station in the swipe promo, plus won some more at bj.

Back downtown now, car is parked, time to start drinking heavily!

Oh my god it's only midnight.

Such was the truth from babes. I was playing bj and the above came out of someone's mouth, & everyone laughed.

Midnight here is 2 AM in my home, & likely it is in other's as well.

It has been a long night, so let us just say still ahead for the trip so far.

    Domani e un altro giorno.

Trendy drinks on sale at the Boar bar:

(Sorry but I can't seem to rotate the photo from my phone.)

I hate to make the place more popular, but aren't these drinks like $15 each on the Strip?

Was that quarter 10/7 double bonus progressive at the Cal?

I sure would like to know where it is located.

    Thanks!

It's at 4 Queens. They have a $1 version also.

Off to do a day at the Strip.

Back from the Strip, last day of the Harrahs promo for Wheel of Fortune game pieces. Parked at Casino Royale, hit up the TR desks at Harrahs, Quad, FlamingO, Ballys, Paris, & Planet Ho. By the time I got to the Ho, my feet were hurtin. I'm not as young as I once was. But I didn't give in to the urge to cab it back to the Royale, and hiked it back.

The Quad looks pretty nice. Except for the Dealertainers you'd never in a million years know it used to be the IP.

Back in the room for a bit, the only other thing for tonight is Palace Station for a drawing. I might hit up Silver Nugget & Jerrys Nugget for some DD bj on the way back.

Almost forgot, amusing story alert. So, I'm at the Boar bar last night & there's some guys next to me batchin it up. One guy asks Kelly the bartender if he can go behind the bar for a picture with the boar. No way. She says he can ask security. I tell him where the security desk is, he says you must be a regular, maybe you can help me out. The groom to be wants to see if he can pull it off. Hey, don't get me mixed up in the middle of this scheme, I'm just trying to hit quads for a scratch off.
So he actually goes to security, & when he gets back he says he talked to the supervisor, & it's still no go. He tels me how he thinks it's the fault of the criminal element that is taking all the fun out of life. Yeah, right buddy. He does offer to buy me a drink, but since I'm already drinking free, I don't take him up on it.

So the moral is you can sneak a woman into the mens room for a pic with the Berlin wall, but you can't take a pic with the boar. Bummer.

LOL Flusher, I told him the same thing myself!

So last night started rough, got better, then crashed. I couldn't get anything to go positive at Palace, not vp, bj, or food.

After the drawing I didn't win I was hungry, so I decided to check out the buffet. Even at $7.99 I was unimpressed. Some basics were missing - no hot mustard for the egg rolls, no small cups for condiments, & the food wasn't very good overall. I would rank it 3rd worst - better than AZ Charlies Boulder & Rampart, about the same as Terribles.

Stopped at Silver Nugget, their table pit was closed. They don't even open it M-W anymore. Jerry's DD table was full, so I headed back downtown.

I had some freeplay at El Co, & needed some positive mojo. Sat at the bar & hit this pretty quickly:

Of course I soon proceded to give it back at bj. Back at 4Q the JOB prog at the bars is up to $2k on 3 of the 4 royals, so I dumped a few 20s chasing it. Only one quad along the way.

Chicago Brewing is not the Boar, but after my long day I wasn't up for the walk to MSS. Still, the bartenders here are cool, and the amber is almost as good as the pale ale at the Boar. They have HH M-F 3-6 including half price appetizers. I also found out later you can get the amber at both the casino bars, but they won't serve it at the tables.

Speaking of which, I turned a winning bj session into a loser when I should have known better. A dealer change killed me, and I turned a small profit into a big loss in minutes.

So even with the freeplay wins (I turned $40 into $75 on the quarter 10/7 with a couple full houses) I'm down about $100 after 2 nights. Not horrible or anything, but it should have been better.

Moving to Orleans today, Gold Coast has 5x points, and I will probably eat at the Palms cafe.

On the comeback trail! Got killed at Silverton on 50 cent 8/5 Bonus, just no quads. Lost at bj also, so started the day on a low note. Good news was 500 points got a $20 food comp so I enjoyed NY steak & eggs. Very good choice at their cafe.

Didn't hit on the drawing so I hitailed it on out of there.

Stopped at Hooters on the way to Orleans to do the 50+ free slot tournament. Played some 3:2 single deck $10 min D10, broke about even.

Got checked in, then went over to Gold Coast for 5x points. I guess I was more tired than I thought because I started feeling a bit dicey. So I just put in enough play to get into the vp tournament. Another disappointing performance, no quads or royals.

Headed back to Hooters to check the results of the slot tourney. While I was waiting I played some 9/6 JOB with a twist - pays 239 instead of 250 for a straight flush. Only the 5 coin payout is affected. I'm not sure how much this affects the payback % but I can't imagine it's very much. Thanks to a couple dealt full boats & a quad I made $50. (Sorry no pic, left the phone in the room.) The single deck table was only dealing one round to a full table, so that wasn't an option. Finally the results came out and I won! 50 bucks! Well worth the trip, plus they serve free cookies.

Back to Orleans, where I probably should have layed down for a while. Instead I played DBDW & hit this on my 2nd 20:

Ok, so flickr changed their website today & now I can't find the code anymore to post the pic. If I can I'll post it later. But I hit quad deuces for $250. If the 5th card would have been an ace it would have been worth 500, but alas it was a 5.

I didn' t give it all back on bj & Let It Ride, so I'm back in + territory for the trip.

Plans for today include Boulder Hwy & the Flamingo area casinos.

Ok, it seems I worked out how to find the code. Here's the pic from last night:

One thing I almost forgot, I was at Palms for the 40-4-25 slot play deal. For some crazy reason I decided to run it through one of the new CSI machines. Well I ended up turning it into almost $100. Part of the comeback run.

Today I have been hitting up the Coast casinos for young at heart. So far I've made like $2.75 in points while spending about $5.

Currently I'm at EI where I just ate the most wonderful pork chop dinner. Normally $8.99 it was a buck off for senior day, plus I won a free beer.

Well it has been a profitable day. Lost a few bucks at EI, didn't win any drawings. It took almost 25 minutes to find somebody there for the 2:00 one.

Back to Orleans for the 4:30 drawing, played some DBDW to earn tickets, then settled in at the Mardi Gras bar to wait for the names to be called. It didn't take me long to hit these:

After the drawing which I again didn't win (seeing a theme here?) I even called lady friend who had been bugging me to play $20 through for her & ended up hitting quad 7s for her in short order.

Played bj for a small profit, then had the shrimp scampi at Big Al's for dinner. Although I have had this before and liked it I wasn't as impressed this time. With my food credit it wasn't.that expensive, still I'm not sure I would do it again.

There was a promo going on at Cosmo, so I hopped on the free shuttle to Ballys. Put 100 points on your card & swipe for a prize. Since it takes like $7.50 to get a point on vp, I decided to do some slots. I had a good run last year on megabucks when I did the $100 promo, so I figure if I'm gonna risk it anyway might as well go big. A few spins in and I hit this for $150:

Played through enough to hit my 100 points, & walked with $130 profit. My prize was $5 freeplay, so I played that + $6 in my acct though in a 9 line penny double diamond at 9 cents a spin & made it into 17 bucks cash. So this turned out to be another good promo.

Still in + territory for the trip, next move is to the El Co.

It was certainly an eventful day yesterday. Went to Gold Coast to earn 300 points for free headphones, but you can't pick them up until after 2 PM. This will be a big deal.

I went to Palace Station for senior day, another lousy showing in the free slot tourney. Played some bj, lost a bit but not a lot.

Went to the Palms for some lunch using a $5 off coupon. Went with the country fried steak & eggs. Not bad, but nothing special.

Picked, up my headphones at GC, then headed downtown. Well according to the radio after the fact there was some kind of pipe bomb found, & they sent in a robot to detonate it. All I knew at the time was the freeway was at a standstill & the downtown exit was closed. Somehow I ended up going west and took Rancho to Chaleston to 4th to Carson. So it took me 1-1/2 hours from GC to El Co.
I had been thinking about hitting the Boulder Hwy casinos, but at this point what I needed was a few beers, which I took from the room stash.

The El Co magazine shows a new promo - use the ATM for over $200 & get 5% freeplay. I will be trying that today.

Went to The D to earn 100 points for a drawing entry at the Vue bar. Hit the mini prog fot quads, but didn't have the phone with for a pic. I took a run for the rest room, & on the way almost literally collided with Anthony Curtis. I introduced myself & we spoke a couple minutes. He was there for some special press showing of the Scintas. He came by the Vue a few minutes later as well.

I played some bj at 4Q & Fremont, and must not have eaten as I am hungover & don't recall returning to the room to pass out.

Ahead $400 for the trip, with $ 30 freeplay plus the $50 from the ATM promo still to come.

Ok, today I took it pretty easy. Went to Hooters for a free pull on the new pawn stars machine, made 50 cents. Stopped at Palms for senior day, won $5 freeplay. I still had $20 left from the other day, so I ran it all through to make $30 in cash.

I won't go into detail but I went to a sister credit union to deposit some cash & try to work out why I couldn't get the atm card to work. Bottom line is I just can't get it done. I ended up using my regular checking atm, but since they limit me to $400/ day it will take me 3 days & 3 fees to get the max freeplay.

Finally made it to Ellis Island for 2-4-1 pizza slices & a free beer. I almost went back for 2 more slices but decided to save my appetite for the Flame tonight. While waiting for the drawing I played nickel 7/5 Bonus & hit 2 quads. Sorry, no pics, I left the phone in the car. Another profitable stop!

Got the freeplay loaded at the El Co, plus I had some left over from the other day & made around $25.

Dinner at the Flame was great as usual. Had the porterhouse, sauteed mushrooms, & mac & cheese. With food credit & comp dollars it was higher than I usually pay, around $20, but I really like the place.

A couple 20s through at the boar bar, no quads, and I'm back at the room nursing sore legs & feet. I'm not as young as I once was.

5X points start at midnight at the El Co, time to make a run at the downtown deuces machine.
