I've seen George everywhere too. Funny thing... I saw him at my table at the $300K MGM poker tournament the week before this arrest and another player was getting into a fight with him because George had owed him some money.

Well I guess in his defense he thought he found a way to pay the guy back. :wink2:

Personally I think if you're going to cheat a casino Nevada is the last place to do it. They seem to take that shit seriously as hell.

If you play inside the high limit at Cosmo, you have likely seen him.

Yep! My buddy was playing blackjack there one evening and I stopped in after coloring up at craps and I saw him.

Someone had to tip security off, right? Because if they are overpaying him how would they be caught unless the cameras picked it up (assuming they were doing it with just him as a player at the table)?

reliable source says he got caught as they had to post the "winning" chips to someone's player card account as the till still had to be right - the chip tray could not just be short 60k. The player whose account the "win" was posted to happened to be reviewing his account with his host, his host said congrats on the nice win, all hell broke loose, and then the tapes were reviewed and investigation begun as to where the chips actually went. This is first hand info.

    Wow...thanks, VBJ.

So let me ask you this...why did they have to be posted to a player card account? What if I sit down to play somewhere and don't have a players card there and rip off a nice win? Do they make me sign up just to account for the chips?

I imagine that he has been getting away with this for a while and the other properties he has been playing at are going to be doing some reviews as well. If this is as bad as it appears, he is going to be doing some serious time.

It is because they are high denomination chips. You can't just walk up to the cage and cash out a 5k chip without a players card/ID or a slip that says the chip belongs to you (some casinos do this or will just pay you in smaller denomination chips).

They won't force you to sign up for a card, but will get your ID and when you cash out, the cage will verify with the pit that you had just come from that they are indeed your chips.

Ok gotcha - I have never had anything larger than a $1k chip to cash out.

If he didn't have a players club card and went the ID route when cashing out it probably would have not been noticed, right? Because the pit boss who authorized the cash out would have signed off and verified that he won it and then just took his ID info. But by assigning it to some other person's card it backfired.

He's a known player all over town. There's no way that would have worked for him.

Which makes it even more ballsy that they tried to run a scam with someone who is well known.

Would this get him in the infamous Black Book?
