I have my first stay at Caesar's Palace coming up in a few weeks, I usually stay at Rio or Aria. I am currently booked in Augustus Tower. Will likely have an option to stay in Augustus Tower or go to Octavius Tower as this is my Diamond 3 compared trip. Would love to hear pros/cons for each tower or specific things I should consider. Will definitely use the Spa each day as well as do considerable gaming at CP and other CET properties on my trip. Thanks in advance for the advice?

I can only vouch for the rooms in Augustus but I've explored the passageways and such to/from the Octavius as well. Agustus rooms are EXCELLENT and probably the nicest hotel room I have ever ever stayed in. I love the Jacuzzi tub! The room, in and of itself, is spacious (long!) and without flaw. The tower is quiet at night.

I don't think I would want to stay in the Octavius simply because of the much longer walk to the front lobby and to the other casinos in the area. There is kind of a "secret passageway" from the Octavius which ends up right by the buffet.

Don't forget the special valet park for Augustus and Octavius guests right on Flamingo! It's a real time saver!

I have stayed in both towers and as far as the room itself I would say they are both equally nice. Octavious maybe a little more but it is such a little difference it might just be personal preference.

However I feel the walk to Octavious plain sucks. Not that Augustus is too much better but it is a little bit.

You cannot go wrong with either room. Both have shortcuts to the pool and like another person was saying, you can take a shortcut to get to the casino from octavious that puts you next to the pool area and buffet/raos.

From augustus tower, just go thru the lobby area to the casino. And from my memory, both towers are basically in the same walkway but octavious is further down.

I would stay in the Augustus Tower, you won't be disappointed. There are shortcuts to get around like going to the pool or exiting the casino. I stayed at Caesars last summer and even though CP is huge, the property is pretty easy to navigate once you're familiar with the surroundings. The Appian Way shortcut will save lots of time. The Augustus Tower will also have better views of the Strip and Bellagio Fountains IMO as opposed to Octavius which is set further back on Flamingo Blvd.

If you are used to the room quality at Aria, than I think the Augustus tower will be a slight step down. These rooms are starting to show their wear in little ways. TV wear / signal quality, frayed carpet at baseboard edges, and some Jacuzzi tub issues (my personal experiences).

However if a great view of Bellagio fountains is high on your wish list, than Augustus Tower is the only choice, but you have a 50 /50 chance of scoring one depending on check-in date / time.

IMHO the room and bed quality and common areas are higher quality in Octavius. Beds in Octavius sit slightly higher and seemed much more comfortable. However the best view is probably going to be the Caesars pool complex. There are some rooms that have limited Bellagio fountain views. Octavius also has some technology upgrades with media hub connections and iphone accessory connections on clock radio. They also have an app associated with tower which is supposed to allow you uplifted service. http://app.caesarspalace.com/caesars_lv/app/web/

Personally I prefer Octavius just because of what I feel isroom quality, its slightly higher than Augustus. Previous posters are right though about location since number to steps in the hotel to front desk or las vegas blvd are going to be longer. The route around the buffet will get you to the casino and dinning areas. Its pretty fast except to except to forum casino.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I am going to try for the Augustus tower with the Bellagio fountain view. Hopefully I will do a trip report.

I wrote a very detailed description of the differences a couple years ago on this site. Be aware Augustus rooms at 650 sq ft are about 100 sq feet bigger than Octavius, even though nobody at Caesars will admit it today.

I agree now with Funk, Augustus rooms are starting to show their age a little. MINOR things like slightly fraying carpets, dinged walls, baseboards with water damage are the norm. Again, these are minor but now some or all of these are in evidence in pretty much every Augustus room. Some people wouldn't notice or care.

Octavius rooms are newer, slightly smaller, but fresher, brighter, and not showing wear. The TVs are much bigger and the beds/pillows/linens are much better IMO.

Most people prefer the Augustus location. If you've never stayed in either I'd try Augustus first, but I am going with Octavius these days mainly because of the superior beds.

I just got back from CP today. We had 2 connecting rooms in the Augustus tower and another in Octavius. Everything said above is true. The walk from Octavius to the casino is really not that bad. The size difference is noticeable but not something that really matters. The nicest part about the Augustus rooms is the B fountain view. The TV in the Augustus room is maybe a 31", really small. The room is wide and the tv is almost unviewable from the bed. If you can't get the Bellagio view, I would go with Octavius.
