Hi guys, Haven't posted in a bit but wanted to give a brief recap of AC since 1) There's never enough recaps IMO ; 2) Moreover, not enough of AC and 3) Why not? Anyway, I had been staying at the Borgata the past few times- which is definitely the best hotel/casino in AC bar none, however, I keep losing there and, as any good gambler must do, I had to blame it on the property and switch where I was staying lol. I drove up from DC at around 2pm on Friday- Mistake #1, got stuck in fantastic Beltway traffic for an hour and then Baltimore ha. Smart man I am, after making 10 or so of these trips you would think I would leave earlier but I'm preserving all my vacation hours for Vegas next month- which will likely become a reality. Anyway, FINALLY got into AC at around 6:45 (well over an hour later than without traffic), and decided to finally try the famous White House Subs- I must say, the chicken parm was easily the best thing I've ever had in the state of New Jersey- massive portion and wasn't too expensive either. Then I drove over to Harrahs, checked in (didn't get a usual bump to Bayview or Waterfront because I was on a comp and it was evidently full). Got a quick workout in as Harrah's is, as far as I know, the only AC property where guests can use the gym for free (too bad this isn't policy everywhere as common sense would dictate it would be). So I was the only one in the gym, at around 7:30pm, and was curious as to why that was until I realized i'm in Atlantic City and people don't go there to lift (unless they're of the gym tan laundry type, but that's a story for a different day lol). Head back to the room, shower, crack open two deucer Miller Lites (keeping it classy), then head down stairs to a single deck blackjack table (Yes I know it's 6:5 and the rules blow but I get drinks quick there to loosen me up for real gambling haha- it's right beside the Xhibition bar in the center of the gaming floor). Played for about 2 hours, won maybe $200? Then decided to sit down at a 3:2 table (I believe it was $25 min and near the roulette/craps tables slightly behind where I was sitting). Had a lively table full of people from all over- I LOVE that as I normally travel to AC alone notwithstanding I'm in my late 20s and should be 'partying it up' with fellow degens, however, I don't know many degens around my age in DC.. I need to probably look harder ha. Anyway, played nonstop until around 2am. I'm a green chip player (25-50) unless and until I'm either: 1) with friends; 2) drunk with friends; or 3) drunk with NEW friends- of which here the latter occurred. Was up around $400-500 on my 400 buy in and started playing black and for the first time in 4 trips I WON! I was that perfect type of buzzed/drunk on my woodford reserve/heinekin light combo and didn't realize until the next morning that I had won $2200 lol (I had 1k in chips and 12 hundreds plus my original buy in.. not sure why I only partially cashed in but oh well lol). Looooong drive home awaited so I hit the waterfront buffet which, while not amazing, was solid. Drove back, only 3.5 hours this time to Arlington/DC. Then attended a Nats game later in the day. Was a lot of fun, so much so that my dad is traveling up for business in 2 weeks and I'm going to AC again lol. This time, unfortunately, comped at Bally's since other weekends seem full but it will be the first time my Dad and I go together since we hit Vegas a few years back- he was the reason I gamble today, because we went shortly after my Mother passed away as a sort of reprieve and while he isn't much of a gambler, it was a new experience. 5 years later it has opened up a massive can of (good) worms haha. Until 9/18, AC I will be back and perhaps I may meet some VMB'ers who are there that Friday!
