Attend a Sept wedding or Nov solo trip?

My bankroll has been restored after hitting this last weekend at a local casino.

So, my options are to attend a buddies wedding on Sept 20th or do a solo trip the weekend of Nov 2nd. Leaning toward the Sept date as long as work doesn't get in the way. Airfare is reasonable both dates and I have some decent offers from different places that I could take advantage of for either weekend. If I go in Sept my options are the Quad for $290 total for 4 nights or LV Hilton (or what ever it is called now) for $120 total. The Flamingo is out of the question since rates are sky high that weekend for some reason. That is where most of the people attending the wedding are staying. I figure the Quad is close or the Hilton I can catch the tram to meet up with everyone. Obviously not the most convenient, but both are doable. If work doesn't cooperate then it looks like TI in Nov. TI usually has a 3 night room offer and free play that I could use. I could use it for the Sept trip , but with a bunch of friends in town I'm not sure I would give TI the amount of play that I usually do to continue receiving these offers.

So, the wheels are turning for a 2nd trip to Vegas this year and 18th total since 2000. I read the thread Beejay started on Vegas burnout and I can understand a lot that was posted. I can't say I have Vegas burnout but I definitely have a different feeling about Vegas now than I did the first few trips that I made. With all the gambling options close to home I can say it's more the Vegas atmosphere and vibe that brings me back time and time again. Just thinking about walking the strip or sitting at a bar BSing with someone out of the blue or punching away at some DDBP VP has me excited about booking another trip.

So, look for a countdown signature for me soon?!?!?!?

As someone who got married in Vegas last September, I'm biased and say go to the wedding for your buddy! We only had a small wedding and reception (about 15 people) but it was such a blast for the few days everyone was there. Then my wife and I stayed for another week for the honeymoon, but being in Vegas with friends and family was such a good time.

I would also personally stay at The Quad before LVH just because of location, especially if everyone else is staying on the Strip at Flamingo. Tram ride is pretty easy, but you never know how those late nights/early mornings will go with a wedding party and I'm pretty sure the tram only goes until 2-3am even on the weekends. If you find yourself having to take a taxi multiple nights, you could end up spending your money for a less convenient option anyways.

Just my thoughts. Have a blast either way!

If you're doing the weekend of the 20th, you should get on it now. That's the weekend of iHeart Radio and it's gets pretty busy that weekend. Comps will start to dry up soon.

If you're still contemplating, reserve now and cancel later.

This would be the second wedding I've attended in Vegas. If this trip is anywhere close to the fun I had on the first one, it'll be a blast. Yeah, I'm leaning toward Quad. I enjoy sitting at the bar and watching the Dealertainers. Plus I hit a royal there in Jan so I've also had a little luck there.

Thanks for the advise! I was wondering what was going on to make the Flamingo prices sky rocket.

Yep, I'm already booked for the Mirage and I'm happy I did. Tickets went on sale on July 20 and I think it's gonna get worse now that they're selling the tickets.

Sept wedding it is! Let the planning begin!

Got a decent deal at the Quad for 4 nights so I went ahead and booked there.
