    My Trip Report

    Hi all!

Going to Atlantis for a LPGA tourn that my friend (Steve) and myself will be playing in. (Look for us on TV) It is right after Super bowl and right before the Presidents holiday so im expecting it to be the slowest time of the year. We were at Atlantis a year ago August and had a blast. We were not going back until Bahamar opened however due to the golf tourn we will go and stay at Atlantis again. Coming from Los Angeles It is a long trip for me. 10 hours to get there. 7 to 8 hours of flights but with layovers at least 10. First class helps. Couple questions.. Now that I am the international player coming from the states can I negotiate a loss rebate? ie. over a 10k loss of 20%? Over a 25k loss of 20%?? Can I negotiate a front money rebate?10k?, 25k? or 100k? Can I get Free play of whatever? Im already getting a 2 bdrm regal water view suite in the royal tower (Which is the tower I wanted) comped for 5 night and casino rate for the other two nights which will be comped at the end anyway. Bank roll will be 30k ish. Oh, as far as play im use to playing 4 hours a day (In Vegas) and did as I thought that is what I needed? I hear they only want an hour a day? True? I played for 30 hours over 8 days last year and won! I think I played 20 hours too much. LOL. And remember, never play for comps!

As I said we had a great time last year and the staff everywhere couldn't have been more gracious and friendly. We golfed everyday and loved that too. Did the dolphin stuff saw the undersea world and snorkeled in the 90 degree ocean everyday. Spa was a everyday thing as well. Took my big old ass down all the slides daily and gambled at night. Everyone was from NY, NJ, Florida or Canada. Mostly NJ. Staying somewhere 9 days you get to know and befriend a lot of people and made some new friends. Since we were the only ones from Cali in that whole place we made friends easily. Everyone were asking all kinds of questions and wanted to visit me one day. NO SINGLE people at all. All couples. A few single moms with kids but really no single scene which was fine. demographics was 37-60 year olds again which was fine. No 21-30 year olds at least when we were there. Im 50ish.

Looking forward to Feb! Maybe a VMB meet up there? Anyone in?

the comps at Atlantis at atrocious.

not a chance you get any kind of loss rebate whatsoever, let alone something crazy like 20%.

FYI, even the best loss rebates in Vegas for multi-million dollar int'l players are about 10%.

I doubt any kind of FP either, but not sure about that.

they are the only game in town and know it.

    Packer,

i go to Atlantis every year and one thing you need to do is change your room to THE COVE. Do not stay at the royal towers. I get front money comp but that is to pay taxes and energy fees. They have to charge this so the Casino will give you Money at check in to cover that. The Cove has its own casino and beach and pools so I would recommend you change your room.

TY PP, I stayed in the royal last year but got a key for the cove. Was at the beach and outside casino at the cove everyday. They are giving me a 1600 sq ft suite for me and Steve at Royal tower and I like to be near the spa. Comped 7 nights. You get wayyyy more for your play in Vegas. No comparison. I haven't seen the rooms at Cove and im sure I would like them better but it is far from the action. if I was with the wife I would stay at the cove but im not. I Like that the casino and restaurants are right down stairs. They would give me a loss rebate of 5% or 10% over 100k. First she said 250k then she ok'd 100k. Forgot what she told me on the %. I think 10%.. Front money rebate (free play) if I wire in 100k. Don't know yet how much FP. At least this is what I was told this afternoon by my host. She wasn't excited at all to give me too much info but in the end she did.. PP, come on down in Feb 2!

4Eyes, Yes playing in the pro-am, going to all the events, dinners, parties and so on. Lots of swag too.

Hi, I went last year and tipped my way to a cove blank key and wrist band. But nobody cared or ever checked probably due to me tipping. Much better pool and great beach.

I'm going just not sure when. I was suppose to go to Baha Mar but the was told by my Host it is delayed.

Packer you can see the rooms on their website. There are nice restaurants at Cove/Reef side. MESA is there.

I'll see when I'll be going to Atlantis this year.

But you aren't losing 250 or even 100 so what do you care.

For 30 they won't even give you a reach around.

That's why I'm going to bring in a hundred K. Get my five or ten thousand and convert it. And you're right I don't care about the loss rebate means nothing to me I was just telling the rest of you in case you do care.

lol, saw this last night but my post failed to go up. Agree with all the comments about how tightfisted Atlantis is.

The upfront comps are generous, but they're super tightfisted on anything past RFB, and some promo play (which as mentioned, washes out with all the random fees/taxes on the rooms). Getting comps on the backend for Spa / big dinners is like pulling teeth. And their room management system makes comping at exit a LONG, tedious process. I've have trips where I waited a half hour as they crossed out drinks / etc on the computer. I'm not sure if Brookfield has changed the system, but this past trip seemed to be smoother on that end at least.

Service under the new management has somewhat improved though. And the looming threat of Baha Mar has pushed them to get finish some long due changes to Sportsbook, etc.

I was hoping to visit Baha Mar for NYE, but with that delayed I plan on doing Atlantis once more before then. The suits like to talk as though Baha Mar and Atlantis will coexist peacefully, but I'm very skeptical. The new casino floor at Baha Mar (in renderings) looks far improved over Atlantis, restaurant scene should be better, and overall the rooms will be far nicer. Pricing for this summer is on par with Atlantis as well. The Waterpark at Atlantis is fun, but I've got high hopes for Baha Mar.

Do any of you know if they finished changes to Sea Glass to add additional tables / craps? I visited several months ago and they were talking about adding some additional tables & longer hours.

Not sure what they're using face value for. I asked my host if not using the tickets would use less comp value at all but unfortunately not. Conversely he offered a few extra tickets with supposedly no hit against comps...

Not sure yet about NYE, but I if I do go I'll absolutely post in the thread.

I went to Olives this past trip and was unimpressed. I love greek food so I had high hopes, but food was only so-so. I normally do Mesa/Nobu/Seaglass.

I've heard about the fish fry, but haven't had a chance to go yet. There is a French restaurant on the waterfront side of the Reef, the name escapes me, but the food/vibe was great.

I've played in pro-ams on all the main domestic tours save the Nationwide, and the LPGA experiences have been the best, without a doubt. (Seniors are the worst.) Highlight is the two rounds you get/got at the "Dinah Shore," swag as noted, gotta shoot the shit for a long time with Don Felder -- SCORE for an Eagles junkie. The LPGA players get it. Props to them.

    Enjoy!!

I was looking at pictures from a prior trip and remembered the restaurant, Dune. For some reason it's no longer listed on the main Atlantis site, but you can find information on the One & Only Club site. Fantastic ambiance / good food, and the prices were in line with the rest of the dining in Atlantis.
