Came home today and saw this on NJ.COM. The title is something like Jerseys hotest fishing hole ,a nucular power plant. I dont know how to link it it ,so you have to go on it yourselves. This creek is about 5-10 minutes away which means I live that close to the nations oldest nucular power plant. I havent caught a lot of fish out of here but guys do when they are in .

Wow, this brings back long forgotten memories of fishing with my dad and brothers along the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware Water Gap and the shad running near Dingman's Ferry, Lehigh River dam and, also someplace I can't remember the name, near Easton below the PP&L plant. Those were fun times. If I remember correctly, the shad were running early to mid April timeframe.

There is also a fishing pier adjacent to the coal fired generating plant in Beesleys Point just before you get into Ocean City. The water is warmed by the discharge, I foul hooked a turtle reeling my line in.

I fished for shad once with a buddy who was in to that. We launched his aluminum boat in Milford Pa and fished the Delaware for a few hours. I believe April would be correct for the shad run.I fished for redfish and sea trout in SC last week ,no luck.

I spent my youth fishing in Manahawkin. Had a house (shack) on the bay.

Best rock fishing around was when there was a local steam plant close by. You cast just at the edge of where the warm water and cold water met. Good times.

You were probably there during the "good old days" before all the development down here.
