My phone has internet. According to DH I can plug my usb from the phone into the laptop and use the internet without paying the fee at the hotel. Any input? I don't want tp lug the laptop to Vegas if it's not going to work.

I would test it at home first if you are unsure if it will work then you tether (what the procedure is called) your laptop to your phone. That is, unless your phone can be used as a WI-FI hot spot and you don't need the USB cable.

SH0CK's advice is right on – check it out at home. That said, our smartphones have WiFi hotspots built in, and just turning it on permits the laptop or iPAD to connect to the Internet just fine – no cable required. We also set the security codes for both phones and laptop.
