A 1 in 62,000 chance. I'd say Earth has a pretty good house advantage on this one.

Possibility and probability are two very different things.

Yes, there is a chance it could happen. Heck, there's always a chance almost ANYTHING can happen. But, the odds are way against it.

I laughed at the last sentence of the article:

"Wegmans is probably already out of bread."

Never heard of it but I'm assumming that it is a grocery store chain.

That was the problem :) Deep Impact was depressing. Armageddon was fun! One of my favorite movies.

Say what? Are you saying that a story about NASA deciding our only hope to save the planet should rest on a motley crew of oil drillers who we launch into outer space with almost no training to land on a massive asteroid we only discovered weeks before impact and blow it up with nuclear weapons isn't believable!

Next thing you know if the earth's core just decides to stop spinning, you'll say sending a professor to the center of the earth in an indestructible ship to jump start it with nuclear weapons isn't believable either. :poke:

I heard this report was published first in the Farmer's Almanac, and they are right 80 percent of the time.

Of course, 60 percent of their predictions are for darkness between 2 and 4 a.m.

Massive asteroid? I'm more worried about a massive ass hemorrhoid orbiting around Uranus.
