If you dont mind me asking, how does one play with the big money? I understand taking out a marker, but lets say you are up like at Palazzo. I guess you bring the chips to the cage and they count it all out and you tell them what to do with it? Give you a plastic bag? I really dont know...

btw, your trip report is awesome and man that street girl you picked up is quite expensive :wink2:

Normally I likely would not have been so disciplined & probably played until I'd given more back - several circumstances aligned to have me stop playing & lock in the win this time - the fact that we had dinner reservations, my wife getting me to go shopping instead of back to the tables after dinner & the fact I was staying somewhere else - believe me, if this win had happened back at Aria, no doubt some [if not all] of it would've probably gotten played back.

I also don't like carrying around big amounts of cash - so that also helped in that it made me want to just have it wired home instead of carrying it out.

However you want it - cash, cashier's check, wire transfer, credit your account - it's up to you how you want to take it.

if you want cash, you bring a bag with you or they offer you one to carry the bricks. a lot of people just have them keep it on deposit for your next trip or wire it to your bank. much cleaner and easier that way.

Reading each installment of your trip report is like reading one chapter at a time of a novel you don't want to put down! You are a wonderful writer, and I am loving the detailed descriptions of the suites, the dining, and the gambling (although I have to admit the intimate post-win victory celebrations make me feel as if I've walked past someone's house and caught a glimpse of some hanky-panky going on....). It sounds as if you and your wife have a lot of fun together.

The Carnevino and Sage dinners...wow. I could almost taste each bite. And the shopping, the watches -- very nice! I suspect your next stay will be at the Palazzo, and I'm looking forward to reading that report. Thank you for taking the time to share this with the rest of us.

Wow! Simply wow!! Your attention to detail and the way you describe either the gambling sequence or the exquisite meal... is just a testament to behold. I could taste almost every bite of those meals. Cannot wait to be in Vegas in 2 days.... and live it up with my wife on our very different bankroll. But, so wonderful to be reading this trip report Jilly.

For the record, love the report, but my wife would KICK MY ASS if I wrote some of that in regards to her.

Yeah, that's also why no pictures - I can feel free to tell it without anybody stumbling across it on line who knows who we are in real life knowing it's us [well, maybe a few close friends who have heard the tales of our Vegas exploits in person might figure it out if they read it - but then again, they already know all the details anyway]

But for the record, it's all in fun - my wife & I have been together over 14 years, so we enjoy a little role-playing every now & then - especially on vacation - and in Vegas, the "john" & the "whore" was just what naturally sprung to mind - and, actually, her mind, to be precise - remember, she's the one who got the ball rolling & got that whole scenario going, not me - I spent the whole week calling her my escort, my little whore, and actually far worse in the parts I've left up to all your imaginations - and she ate it up, absolutely loved it! But she always gets to do some shopping & get some trinkets - and I almost always get myself a new watch - every trip, usually even if I'm losing - the motivations for the purchases just became part of the role paying on this trip.

And she's been reading each "chapter" as I've been posting them & getting the same thrill out of reliving the experience over again with each re-reading as I do.

So please nobody get offended or think I think my wife is really a gold-digging whore or only sexes me up when I buy her things or that she wasn't a willing participant in the whole act - or is even unaware that I'm posting this TR - it's all just in the name of a little good time on vacation fun :peace:

shit my wife's favorite song is Kanye West "Gold Digger", I sing it all the time in the high voice..."she takes maaaah money, when I am in neeeeeed". and then I tease her that she is doing so much worse than those guys on Gold Rush who got like a speck of gold the whole season last year.:evillaugh

awesome trip report. tastefully reported. very cool in all aspects. and yeah my wife is enjoying every detail as well, and she NEVER reads these things. i think the shopping has gotten her.

Day Four [Part One] - On to every hot streak, a little rain must fall...

Wednesday morning we both awoke a little after seven - which is one of the things I love about the east-west coast time difference - it never seems to keep me from being able to stay up late, yet still usually manages to get me up nice & early every day. We called the butler for breakfast but for a change decided to keep it simple - an omelette and some OJ for the dirty whore [Oops, I mean wife :poke:], some pancakes & sausage & a chocolate milk for me - What can I say, even though I'm in my 40's now, I still like chocolate milk with my pancakes - I guess I'm still a kid at heart in that respect.

After breakfast, the wife decided to just stay in the suite & lounge around for a bit, while I took a quick shower & was down in the casino by 8:30 at the latest - my hot streak at the Palazzo the night before had me chomping at the bit to get my gamble on again - plus, in addition to the $95K I'd already wired home I was still up $20K at Aria - so still feeling like the king of the world, my first stop was the HL baccarat room - I figured if I was being this lucky, then but of course a streaky shoe would no doubt be waiting for me as soon as I sat down - and man, was I wrong  chop chop chop - and after about an hour tops I had given back about $15K of the $20K in chips that had been my Aria up money.

Have no fear, I thought - so I headed out to the HL slot room & figured I'd run that $5K through my old nemesis from our last trip - the $25 Pinball machine - and in no time surely luck would once again shine down on me in the form of a big, fat, juicy hit. Instead, in no time I'd run that $5K through it with nothing to show for it :(

I was playing this all wrong, I rationalized to myself - my big streak the night before had been at blackjack, so obviously throwing down the big bucks at a table in the Carta Privada was where I needed to be - so I sidled up to a table, ordered up a Bloody Mary [after all, it wasn't even 10AM yet - but hell, I was still on vacation, I rationalized further] and pulled down a marker for $30K & started playing two hands at $1500/hand - and now we were cooking with grease again - once again the casino gods were smiling down upon me, and as I pressed my way up to $2500/hand the good hands were outpacing the bad ones - so after about an hour and two more Bloody Marys I was up maybe $10K or so - nothing crazy like the night before, but still much better than continuing on the downward trend the morning had started off on.

Around that time, the wife finally made an appearance in the casino, nonchalantly helping herself to a handful of my $500 chips and then sauntering off to go feed them into a slot machine until it was time for lunch. Maybe the wife had taken more chips than I'd thought - or maybe it was all the Bloody Marys keeping me from noticing my luck had turned - but by noon I was basically back to even - well, I was up a couple hundred, but as I got up I threw that to the dealer to bring me back to true even - then found the wife - who'd sworn she'd only taken $2K - which she had already lost, 'natch - and then it was off to lunch.

I was in the mood for sushi - but since Bar Masa isn't open for lunch and I didn't remember Lemongrass having sushi on the menu and wasn't in the mood for buffet sushi - I wanted sushi enough that we headed into Crystals for lunch at Social House - inherent risk of the wife piling even more charges on my AMEX this trip be damned - I just really wanted sushi that bad.

As for Social House - my mini review would be the vibe/decor was very hip [even if it was relatively dead, it being lunch on a Wednesday after all] and while the sushi was pretty good, I felt it was a little overpriced - but then again, what did I expect from a place in a mall like Crystals in a town like Vegas? - while the wife raved about the chili-seared scallop dish she'd gotten, which was also more of a value price-wise. But at least I'd gotten my sushi craving satisfied.

And while I managed to keep the wife out of the jewelry stores, I was not as successful at keeping her out of Stella McCartney - where once again my poor AMEX was put through the ringer - but then I also got to stop at a cool, albeit pricey, bookstore whose name I forget - it's right near the entrance to Aria - and where I picked up two very interesting books on Bauhaus & Le Corbusier that would give me something to flip through on the plane ride home.

The wife then headed back up to the suite to relax, while I went to try my luck at the single-zero wheel - I figured it was the only one of my games I hadn't yet tried so far that day - and started betting my usual spread at $2600/spin. I got enough hits to keep me playing for about an hour - but unfortunately this time they were only enough to keep me from walking away as quickly as I should've, but not enough to make me a winner or even keep me even - by the time the hour was up I was down $13K on the session and $33K down from where I'd started at that morning - so around 3:30 or so I pocketed the $17K in chips I had left and headed on up to the suite for a little rest and maybe a soak in the tub before dinner - admittedly a little bummed that my good luck had apparently decided to stay at the Palazzo and not follow me back to Aria - but even though I was now down $13K at Aria, I was still up $82K for the trip overall - so I guess I really couldn't complain...

Thank you for giving us an inside look at being a High Roller in LV.

I always wondered what the etiquette is when a high roller is up big.

I don't have a problem with discipline. If I am up big, I could easily walk away.

Are high rollers that are up big obligated to play until they give some of their winnings back?

Are high rollers obligated to play a certain time period?

If you leave up big, does etiquette dictate you come back at a later date to play?

Good job getting up to the high limit room at Palazzo. The gift of gab can get you just about anywhere in this world.

Btw, Bar Mesa is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. The atmosphere and decor is 100% my style. Good food as well.
