Thanks to everyone who provided guidance on my first post regarding where to stay. Now that I have settled on Aria I have another question.

I was looking through the mlife site and it seems that I could book a sky suite at a discounted rate for the first two days of my trip and then would have to switch rooms or casinos because they are sold out the last two. I would probably look to move to a corner suite.

So here's my question: Has anyone stayed a night or two in a sky suite and then moved to another room? Is this possible?

I know I could call and ask but A) I'm a guy and hate calling people :) and B) want to utilize the vast knowledge base on this board.

    Thanks in advance!

I have never switched rooms. I'm sure it is possible. Book 2 nights in the skysuite and the other 2 in the corner suite. Just let them know when you check in.

If you are getting a 1-BR skysuite, you probably can go into the 1-BR Aria suite after your first 2 days.

    Skysuites are awesome. Enjoy

Of course, you should be able to switch. It's another room.

Also, Sky Suites are decent but not that much more special for the basic rooms. The amenities are what sets it apart.

You get included limo service through back entrance and separate lounge with coffee, wine, food, etc.

The hotel will not care if you move mid-stay.

Too bad you will not be moving from a corner to a SkySuite.
I have done that once and enjoyed the new room a lot.
I'm guessing the weekend is sold out.
Once you get checked in,you can call the desk about extending your stay in SkySuites. You never know, some high roller may have cancelled.

Of course it is possible. Actually somewhat likely they will just let you stay in the Sky Suite.

I agree with danky that since you'll already be occupying the room, there is a decent chance you will be able to keep it.

However, if you want to save money, I'd suggest you deal with not wanting to call.

    What I'd suggest is:

Book the Sky Suite on MLife for the first two nights, get a confirmation number.

Call VIP Services at Aria, give them your confirmation number and tell them you want to add two nights. If they won't, go back to the MLife web site and book the Corner Suite for the last two nights.

If you wait until you're already there, and it happens that you are able to stay in the Sky Suite for the last two nights, you should still be able to get the Mlife discount, but it probably will be based on a much higher base rate than it will be if you try to arrange it now.

The corner suite is a better room, anyway. Regular Sky Suites are in another tower and essentially the same rooms as the main hotel.

If you get an Aria Suite or above, those are actually better rooms.

Just to clarify,ALL the SkySuites refer to the separate hotel within a hotel which has it's own check in and lobby.
It goes from the top end SkyVillas to the Penthouses all the way to a few floors of hotel rooms.

You need to check to see that you are actually getting a suite.
The one bedroom suites there are nicer than the corner suites and have a shorter walk.

Ok so here is the verdict since everyone has been overly nice in the thoughts/opinions. I called today and apparently the Michael Jordan celebrity invitational golf outing is going on April 3rd through 6th so I think I am out of luck getting the suite extended beyond Wednesday.

It is unfortunate that I can't do all four nights but I will be happy with 2 nights in a One Bedroom Penthouse Panoramic View suite and 2 nights in a Corner Suite. And now that I know the invitational is in town I might actually try to go on Thursday as something different to do.

I was kicking around the idea of moving over to the Skylofts at MGM for the last two days or a Penthouse Fountain View at Bellagio, but it seems as if the people watching at Aria might be pretty good.

Thanks again for all the advice!
