Hello, just got back from vegas for halloween weekend and I'm already planning for next halloween weekend :). I reserved a basic room at 4S this year for a base price of $239/nite. I made my reservations over 2 weeks in advance. I just checked aria's website for reservations for next halloween weekend and the quoted rate for a base room was $249/nite. Are the rates for 4S and aria usually this close together when booked over 2 weeks out? Or is the quoted rate for aria much lower than usual because I'm checking for a date almost 1 year out?

Just tried reserving a room online @ 4S for halloween weekend 2015 and the quoted rate was $259/nite which is $10/nite more expensive than aria. 4S is a nice hotel but it's much older and doesn't impress as much as aria. Aria seems like a no-brainer over 4S for savvy vegas trippers. Do you agree?

Aria is certainly closer to all of the action than 4 S. Do you gamble at all and do you plan to go to vegas before then? If you gambled at all at aria you'd problably get a better rate. Doesn't hurt to book now thru aria as it should be refundable if you find a better rate later.

@bayou - I don't really gamble but might play the roulette wheel once and craps table once for the hell of it next time I'm in vegas. Is it possible to get a discount on aria room rates simply by opening a refundable line of credit there? The 4S halloween room rate was $10 more 1 year out so no discount at all for booking early. So I'm guessing that the current room rate for aria for halloween 2015 should be about the same if I book about 30 days in advance. Does this sound about right?
