I was looking to book for the weekend of April 24th at the MGM, but for some reason the price jumped between Sunday and today by like 200 bucks. Mainly because the rate for Friday went way up. Is there something going on that day that I can't see? I should have booked it the other day for a better price but I figured I was far enough out to wait.

only thing I see is the car wash convention @ the convention center which is bringing in 6000 and there is a concert that Saturday at MGM Grand. I guess that's what did it.

The inaugaral Wizard World ComiCon at Las Vegas is that weekend. Dunno how much of a draw that'd be yet, though.

Yeah thats the weird thing I can still get a good deal for saturday at around 100 bucks, but friday is coming up as 343 through this "offer", The cheapest price I can find now is 220. I'll probably end up booking at The Mirage instead now.

I'll be at MGM Grand that same weekend. Along with the Wizard World Comic Con going on that weekend, Iggy Azalea will be performing at MGM Grand on Saturday the 25th.

I had the same thing.. I was first going to book from Thursday the 23rd through Tuesday the 27th at Mandalay Bay for about $400 + resort fee's. Then I saw MGM was offering me $270 for all those nights.. My wife really wanted the Mandalay bay pool so I wanted to confirm with her before booking. By the time I got approval and checked back, it was around $500 - $520 for the weekend.. So I went back to Mandalay bay and they were over $550.. I looked around, saw the Mirage was still around $260 but I had to get approval again so I checked with my wife. Again, got approval then by the time I logged back in to check the Mirage was up to like $450... I was getting really frustrated..

All the meanwhile I didn't realize flight costs were rising as well. When I initially started planning a couple months ago it was like $225 round trip, I finally just got our flights for $410 round trip each...

At the end of the day what I expected to be $270 at MGM and $225 a person for flights ($720 total) turned out to be $450 at NYNY and $400 a person for flights ($1250).. All because I didn't strike while the iron was hot..

I ended up calling the VIP Line for MGM and the lady I got was very helpful and she was able to do some digging around and got me a decent price for the stay, not as low as before but a lot better than what I was looking at online. She also said call back in if the price drops and they can adjust it for me. Needless to say looking forward to a bachelor party trip to MGM.
