I consider taking a lecturer position at UNLV and I would like to get some ideas about accommodation. I don't really like to drive (I can drive, but maybe not too far) so staying not too far from UNLV might be good. However, my priority would be on the safety of the area. Could you please recommend any areas/neighborhoods that I should look for. I plan to get at least 2b/2b and willing to pay around $1500 a month. Thank you.

The general area around UNLV isn't exactly a Better Homes & Garden's neighborhood. I think you're probably gonna be lookin' in Henderson for something you'll like... not too terribly far. The Meridian might be of interest and is relatively close on Flamingo.
