Sixt has removed Las Vegas from their website.

The reservations desk says that they cannot take any reservations for October and November, but won't say why.

I have a reservation for November and have had to make a "backup".

I have a friend going down on Oct. 24th that can check but if anyone had current information, I'd appreciate it.

that's rather suspicious. from my one-time experience a few weeks ago, there seemed to be a real shortage of inventory. i have no idea how many cars were actually available when i rented my vehicle from them, but it didn't appear to be many. when i returned my car at 4 p.m. on a friday afternoon they had people waiting for their rental cars to come in. odd that a lack of inventory would keep them from renting out vehicles, but given that this is supposed to be an international company with experience in the rental business, it doesn't seem like it.

Got this info from a friend who has a family member working there.
"my cousin works there. There is no word from Management but they are likely going out of business; soon. Every week they lay-off / let go several employees.

True, they have stopped taking reservations. One owner of a fleet of automobiles they use came in recently and pulled their vehicles.

Not sure why they would pull chocks, and it is unlikely they will be bought out. My cousin is guessing one month at the most….."

Thank you to all that have answered.

Yes. Very Interesting. Sixt answered me with the very vague:

    "Thank you for your e-mail.

We do not have any availability of vehicle in Las Vegas at this time.
Should you have any further questions please feel free to e-mail or contact us at +1-888-749-8227 anytime.
    Thank you for choosing Sixt."

I have made a backup reservation.

I rented from them last April and it was a great experience. I had found a really stupid rate.... $60+ all in for 5 days. Every time I have checked rates since then.... They have been way out of reach. Too bad they are going away as they were really great to deal with

I called the rental counter directly and my call was answered right away. The explanation I was given was that they are not taking reservations for October or November (sold out) and we're not going out of business. I've rented from Sixt many times and found the cars, service and snacks/cooler to be top notch.

Sorry, I should have just said "thanks". I don't mean to doubt anyone providing information.
