I know they were on America's Got Talent (which I don't watch). They were on Shark Tank last week. They were pitching a magic and piano act for Vegas. One is a magician and one is a pianist. They did one effect that while good it wasn't hard to figure out. They said in Vegas you have to rent the showroom and pay all production costs. They said they were "talking to" a casino that had a 1600 seat showroom they could rent. I forgot how much cash they were asking for or how much equity they were willing to give up but they didn't get a deal. All the sharks thought it was too risky. I had never heard of these guys, I did some checking, I guess they were part of Jubilee a few years ago. Maybe it's the Trop they were talking to since their magic act is going to jail but that showroom isn't 1600 seats.

Anyway, it was interesting since of course I love Vegas and I also love magic (and dabble in it myself). I think there's a void of good magic in Vegas. I loved Lance Burton but he's gone. Copperfield is ok but isn't fulltime Vegas. I like Penn and Teller but they've been around forever. The afternoon magic/comedy guys like Nathan Burton and Mac King are ok but not great. Mat Franco is pretty good. Criss Angel's show was horrible, but maybe his new show is better (I think he's great, why he doesn't do a solo show I can't figure out).
