I just got some offers for CET junkets to Harrah's Reno. I've never been to Reno before. Anybody ever done one of these junkets? What was your experience like?

Have done a few. Sometimes you can pick downtown Harrahs, or Tahoe.

Tahoe is really nice, but about an hour or so drive up the mountains. They usually have a decent bus to ride. Sometimes they met the bus in Tahoe with light snacks and drinks.

We have done mixed trips. Take bus up hill. Rent a car two days later and drive down to Reno and get ourselves to the airport.

Well worth it and would like to do it again.

Are there stuff to do in Reno? I saw there's an automobile museum, which would appeal to me, but I don't know much about the town other than what I've seen on Reno 911 on Comedy Central and I assume none of that is accurate. :p

Not much to do in Reno besides checking out the casinos. You might want to check their event calendar as they have various festivals and events throughout the year. Have never been to the automobile museum. Lots of outdoor activities around if that interests you. I would suggest renting a car and driving around Lake Tahoe.

My first time out West was a ski trip to Tahoe with a couple friends about 27 years ago, went again the following year with my then girlfriend, now wife. I was blown away by the natural beauty of LakeTahoe and wanted to return, but kids and college ensued. Had my first red beer: a jigger of tomato juice in a glass of beer.

You might want to think about renting a car and making your way up to Tahoe, there are several CET casinos in Stateline.
