We've only starting thinking about this after someone on the board pointed out that SWA flies there. One plane change and I'm not real fond of stopovers, but we could use some vouchers from a previous bump and fly for almost nothing.

    Thinking Thanksgiving or Christmas time.

    I love puerto rico.

Great time and very friendly people.

It was 100% better then I thought it was going to be.

It being a US territory i thought it would basically be like another state but I could not have been more wrong.

About the only thing that is americanized is they accept american money and speak english.

The freeways and easy to navigate but the traffic can be terrible at rush hour.

Parking in old san juan is a nightmare so dont plan on it. The city was built before cars so the streets are narrow.

    Thats the only drawback.

I shot craps at a casino with a little person who had like a high chair type thing they hooked to the end of the table. that was a first for me.

We were there after a cruise a few years ago and the casinos had bad video poker schedules. Yes, I played anyway but the money goes fast.

San Juan is beautiful! I've been quite a few times as I have family that lives in PR.

Are you looking more of a centralized stay where you're only in San Juan or are you looking more to explore the island? Let me know what you're thinking and I will try and help ya anyway I can in terms of recommendations

    I like San Juan also

Old San Juan is nice, restaurants and sightseeing good. The Isle Verde section where the EL San Juan on the beach is also pretty. Certain sections you want to avoid, but that's obvious.
