Rhumbar is a great place for a cocktail - lots of outdoor seating. Revolution also a good spot.

We just love the mirage, hubby and myself. Gonna have to check out the bars there too. I like everything about the place. Location is good easy to get around. Decent casino. Easy to check out esp with the guys walking around with the ipads for easy checkout. Only problem is drink service on the floor is not so good. Very slow and hard to get one especially after midnight. Other then that no complaints. I highly recommend it.

Mirage has a few bars but none of them are comparable to Heart Bar. I personally think that's the one thing Mirage lacks. Just my opinion.

Beach crazy - I totally agree! The one big bar inside by the sports book is "okay". Totally bad service, okay drinks and "eh" video poker, lol. I am never feeling it there and never end up staying for very long before a machine or tables are calling my name.

Rhumbar is great for day drinking

they always have specials with reasonable drinks. I love the Mirage sportsbook. They always give out free drink tickets and one of the only ones that still do. Still a great property to me and whats better than a greasy burger at BLT Burger

Really? I find Gustav's a big yawn and have never won there. I personally like Sully's in Ballys. We stayed at Paris our last trip and I found I kept just walking over to Sully's for a better time. Sat at Gustav's for about six hours two years ago to watch the Super Bowl and didnt win much, so when we went last October, I thought I'd give it another try, but it was still the same. But I realized I just didnt like the whole vibe of Paris, so.. Everyone is going to have a different opinion.

People will have different opinions about the actual bars, I think there are plenty of nice places on the strip. I assume by "good bartop VP" you mean pay tables that are at least half-decent. Now it gets tricky.

Most places will drop a coin on the full house return for playing at the bar, so 8/5 JOB on the floor, 7/5 at the bartops or 7/5 BP on the floor, 6/5 at the bartops. Similar for DDB. This is a generalisation, but mostly true.

Bellagio used to have $0.25 9/5 JOB at some of the machines at the Baccarat Bar. Those machines seemed to have been replaced when I was there a couple of weeks ago. Casino Royale might have full pay (8/5) BP at the bar. The best bartop VP I know of, at a smart casino, is 9/5 JOB at Aria's bars but that is at the $1 level.

Most people just accept the lower returns and enjoy the drink service. There's not much else that can be done without heading off strip.
