Im looking at a weekly rental for my upcoming Vegas trip and thought that Id got to Orbitz to see if anyone was cheaper than Dollar. To my surprise both Advantage and Payless were half the cost of Dollar. Is there a catch? Is something so wrong with a company that offers a weekely rental for $83.00 plus fees? Inquiring minds want to know.

Please feel free to share your experience with either!!

We always use Advantage while in Vegas, never had any real problems. We like to deal with Michelle at Main Street Station, she always takes good care of us. The 83.00 plus fees is going to be about double the price I think. We got a good deal thru advantage.com. Currently renting a car for 24 days with the total being 622.00.

You should keep checking because the prices keep changing. Good luck.

We used Advantage last month while in Vegas. We had booked them through Priceline. We've also used Payless in the past in Vegas as well. We had absolutely NO ISSUES with either company and would not hesitate to book again with either company.

We did a one day rental (approx. $30 + tax) through Advantage and had no problems. We'll use them again.

If you are a Sapphire member at Boyd Casinos, you get a 7% discount. You need to book through bconnectedonline.com to get the promo code (look under benefits).

Yes, you can pick it up and return it anywhere Advantage does business. When you book through the bconnected site, it still takes you to the main Advantage rental page but gives you a code number for the discount.

While I had some problems with my Advantage car (rearview mirror fell off once, driver side door wouldn't close properly another time) I was able to return the car and get another one that had no problems. I used to rent a lot when Advantage was US rent a car in vegas (now Advantage took them over) and have no problems renting a car from them. I do make it a point to do a once over to make sure everything works before I leave the lot (that's how I found one problem). But then I have had similar problems with the national chains but like the national chains I had no problems getting another replacement car.

On the other hand Payless is more of a cut rate company IMHO. They sometimes give you the hard sell for extras, sometimes the line is long at the counter, sometimes they don't have your car available so you have to wait until it is returned. Overall I rather rent from Advantage if both prices are comparable but this is JMHO based on past experiences.

Damn good feedback folks. Thanks much. Just booked a weekly compact through Bconnected and Advantage! Weekly rental ($139.51) is actually cheaper than a 5 day rental ($140.38, which is all that I really need)

Make sure you get back to us on how your rental went.

btw, just a warning, before you leave the counter check your bill, if it doesn't add up (more or less) to what you were quoted ($139.51) when you made the reservation then check your bill with a fine tooth comb. As with other agencies they sometimes add some "bogus" charges like daily lock out insurance (if you lock your keys in the car they will come out to open your car) or other things to your bill. Before you leave the counter make sure you ask them to remove the bogus charges because you will have a harder time to remove them later.

I know some cut rate agencies like payless or ez might add on charges and try to con you into thinking they are required.....NO, they are not required!! Some people contest their cc and have it removed when they get home but you should be charged the amount that you were quoted when you made the reservation, anything else is just a bogus charge IMHO.
