I don't quite get MLife. Wife and I are certainly LOOOWWW rollers but when I check her rates on MLife a fair amount of them are actually HIGHER than offer codes found on other sites. Has this happened to anyone else?

very normal. often the rate you see on Mlife is "casino rate" which is just a small discount off rack rate. better rates can usually be found through offer codes on other sites.

^ yup exactly. Thats why dont always book right away on the Mlife rates. Unless you're getting a special offer, the Tier rate from what I recall is 5-10% off regular price for Sapphire and Pearl. Gold and higher are actually same at I think 20%.

Of course if you give alot of hours of play to Mlife, that will factor in the type of deals you get regardless of your Card level.

Basically, check Expedia and other sites as well if you're not getting special offers that can't be matched by other sites. Dont always assume the Mlife rates are best.

I go to Vegas often but I dont always gamble each trip. So I'm not going based on when and where I can get a comp. I'm paying for rooms most of the time. Like this past weekend for Pacquiao/EDC weekend. I wanted to be there so I checked the Mlife rates, Cosmo, Encore, CET, etc. Mainly the places I like to stay at. I found a site that was catering to the Electronic Dance Music(EDM) industry. There was an EDM conference during this week and they had several hotels for group rates. I was able to get Cosmo for $165/nite on Friday and Saturday. Comparing that to what the actual rate on the Cosmo site, it was going for $600 a nite for a basic room. I double checked the day before I left, the City Rooms were going for $740.00
Ridiculous right? So advice is, research other travel sites as well.

For those in this situation, some advice that may help with future comps.

If you are not using an offer tied to your players card, and you are not planning to gamble at all, or even a low amount - do NOT book with you players card number. Just be another guest. That way their players club does not track you and assign you a LOW PLAYER number.

Thank you all for the responses. I just thought it was unusual seeing as never had that happen with CET rates.

CET is operating under the idea that getting people into rooms, at whatever cost is better than an empty room. Just a little different marketing plan. It seems to work for them.

Yes, but I think CET are the exception.

They have a customized rate calendar that takes individual players "value to them" into account. Which makes it actually better than their offers.

Sounds like MLife just has default rate discounts based on Mlife levels, and does all the serious work by sending out specific offers.

I have called MGM directly, gave them my Player's Card number and they gave a price based on my status. The price was higher than if I went to the web site directly.
