The key is to "accidentally" withhold extra taxes from your paycheck. Budget for your lesser income, then 'omg tax refund where did that come from' conveniently around March madness.

Yet you have enough interest to visit the thread and comment on your lack of interest. The irony runneth thick.

Well truthfully merlin, you probably are the only one checking this thread if you have no interest in the results.

According to the us census the annual household income is somewhere in the 50k range. Not insinuating that anyone isnt being truthful. But it is surprising to me that as of right now the results show that the majoraty of us make two to three times what the average us household income is. Maybe it has something to do with once you make more money and have a little more to spend its easier to let your full degenerate hang out? Maybe it's because we all have this expensive hobbie called "Vegas" so we make sure we make a good living to help fund our hobbie? I know it's pushed me in my career in the past to make extra money for a trip. Not sure what it is for sure but it's a good thing.

I don't see why the poll is not truthful. I think it is. The way I figure this is that we all here have a love for Vegas. A lot of us here also boast of going on 2 to 4 trips a year and others go even more than that.

It takes money to do that. The average household are not the ones posting on the poll. The ones posting on the poll are essentially the degenerates who can afford to be so.

Just an observation from several years of board membership.... It does seem that many (IE > 50%) of the heavy contributors to this board hold higher income positions. This isn't to speak to their financial positions, as there are plenty of 400k earners that are financial trainwrecks.......simply that there are many board members making a good living.

There may be a few deceptive answers, but overall, I think the results of the poll are fairly accurate and interesting.

That's where most of my next BR is coming from. And, a bit that I've saved up since my last one. But, leaving enough for a down payment on a new car maybe after I get back.
And, normally I take about 1% of my income. Might be going for a new job that's $20k+ more a year.

For the person that makes a mil+..... my birthday is coming up at the end of March... hint hint.. :D

I find this to be an interesting poll, but I do not base my bankroll on a percentage of earnings. I base my bankroll on a percentage (5%) of liquid net worth. I define liquid net worth as liquid assets (i.e. non-retirement assets) less current liabilities (credit card, auto debt).

I don't think I've ever added up my wife's + my total salaries ?....how could that be ?
My accountant probably has ?.......but he's up on federal (?) charges.
We think it's because his son.......was linked to The Mob.
Which Mob ?...I don't know ?.....but this Accountant saves us a TON of money ! hee-hee

So far.........I'll pass on posting our salary, here.
I am interested in this poll.
    * I consider myself a low roller, in Vegas.

I am visiting the thread but am not interested. Household income tops individual every time. Work beats retired every time.

No one here makes +$1Mil, unless it's Ken.

I make enough, in fact, I'm willing to bet that among common folk who are retired, I'm doing as well as most, if not better than some.

I disagree. Me thinks there are 3, possibly 4 on this board that surpass 1mm annually. The 6 digit threshold ain't what it used to be. I think you would be surprised at how many MBA's are making 400k+ annually.

I'm reading it since I was the first one to respond to the poll, not ironic at all, I would think the accuracy of this poll is about the same as if you polled posters on penis size.

Well....only my income was factored. I'm on my own when it comes to gambling. My girlfriend has no desire, but I can go to the casino whenever I please with no guff from her (even though they're always overnighters too). She understands that I only gamble within my means and this is just one of my pleasures in life.
