I am planning on going down town one evening when I am in Vegas in July. I am undecided for dinner for my Wife and I. We are looking at Andiamos or Oscars. Any opinions on either or is one better than the other?

I have not yet eaten at Oscar's.

However, I have eaten at Andiamo twice, and I highly recommend it!

It is very high-class, yet pleasant. The music is quieter & more romantic (think Sinatra).

The food is arguably the best in the downtown area.

Andiamo has no view. Oscar's used to have a better view -- before Slotzilla.

Prices between Andiamo & Oscar's are comparable.

In summary, I would choose Andiamo for a special meal with my wife. But that's just my opinion.

Agree with everything that Robert has said.

After last year, Andiamo is my favourite restaurant downtown, and I thought that Vic & Anthony's would take some beating.

Just ate at Andiamo and had superb meal, recommend Caesar salad made tableside, had difficulty choosing dessert, I wanted 5 of them! the signature sauce served with the steaks is delish. Miguel was wonderful server

I ate at Oscars two years ago; will go back Andiamo

We ate at Andiamo's last year and it was great! Very classy. I was a bit underdressed in shorts and a polo.

I've eaten at both Andiamo's and Oscar's. I would choose Andiamo. There's nothing wrong with Oscar's, it was a good steakhouse. But Andiamo's was tastier in my opinion. The atmosphere was better as a bonus.

I also ate at Vic & Anthony's and highly recommend it. Andiamo's is an Italian steakhouse, V&A is a classic steakhouse.

There was an Italian restaurant at Harrah's called Andiamo ( or close to that) several years ago that closed. Is this the same one ?

Andiamos all the way, it really is the best restaurant DT. Ive eaten at both lots. Oscar's is good, but I have gotten shockingly bad service a couple times. None of that ever at Andiamo's , or any of the other steakhouse DT for that matter.

If they were nice golf shorts or Bermuda shorts, no problem. You were dressed well within the bounds of Las Vegas decency.

If the shorts were something worn to the gym or cut-off jeans, not so much ....

As to the restaurant choice, Andiamo's sounds like a good one. I look forward to trying it myself someday. For those trying to make a similar decision, Hugo's Cellar is another good option.

Andiamo's has it's roots in Detroit. The last Italian place I remember at Harrah's was Penazzi's and its sorely missed. I know there was another one before it but I don't remember the name.
