I like to visit the Bass Pro shop at Silverton when in Vegas. Can I buy ammunition and bring it back with me in my checked luggage?

Do I have to declare it when checking the bag? If so, is it worth the hassle? (forms, questions, etc. etc.)

    TIA!

Yes you can? Is it worth the hassle?
Up to you, for me it depends on how good the deal is

Travelling with ammo or even a gun is pretty easy but I wouldn't think it would be worth it for what Bass Pro charges for ammo. Much cheaper to order online from home unless you live in one of those states that don't allow.

We visited the Bass Pro shop in the summer whilst staying at the Silverton.
Great selection of camping and fishing gear, but upstairs was scary with all the weapons.
I'm thankful we don't have that kind of store back home.
    Frightening.

I buy all my ammo from a store close to where I live called Freedom Munitions. They ship all over the US depending on your states laws for a very fair price if you consider the weight. If you have served in the armed forces (thank you for your service) sometimes they have specials where they ship to you guys and gals for free. They make reman and new bullets. I only shoot reman through them and have shot over 10k rounds with no issues at all. Can count on 1 hand the amount of ftf I have had. Clean burning. give them a shot. www.freedommunitions.com

...and movie prop companies. Those outfits are licensed for everything under the sun...Full Auto, SBR, Silencer, any combo of those, etc. I'm talking real deal stuff too...not plastic "prop" parts. I need to get into that business...lol!

I was hoping packing small quantities (20 or so) of ammo in unopened cartons in checked luggage would not have to be declared at baggage check-in. I'm not an avid shooter and only indulge once in a blue moon. Of course, with how things are nowadays it was silly of me to think so.

I just love to browse through Bass Pro Shops. We don't have one here where I live. I just thought it would be nice to think that the next time I'm at the target range the ammo I'm shooting came from Vegas.....
