From his Facebook page this morning:

Yes, we have ended our run in Vegas after 13 years. That is plenty long enough. I get it.

It turned out the killer deal offered The Amazing Johnathan wasn't so killer. (shocker!). I noticed this very soon when I began dreading going to work each night. This was mainly from seeing a lack of advertising. Even after playing there for three months there were still more signs advertising acts that weren't even playing there any more. It was death for me. There were NO signs to even tell people where the room was.

Did they know they had The Amazing Johnathan, international headliner, playing in their hotel? I felt like an opening act that was accidentally double booked into a banquet room. It was like playing a mismanaged comedy club but without the horny waitresses & cocaine,

Sometimes I miss the old Vegas when they would, at least, look you in the eyes when they lied to you. I recall the days where the casinos would try to help you out instead of making everything so f*cking hard. I'm used to a standard, although very low, that isn't here anymore. So, after asking nicely a dozed times, I just stopped showing up. I think they should have noticed by now.

It just felt right. It still does.

Thanks to everyone! What a blast!

Saw his show at the Sahara about 6 or 7 years ago it was the same as his Comedy Central show but it was funny.

I think it is a D!ck move just not showing up though.

He's lucky that this didn't kill him. I heard from someone who saw the show not long after his accident that he was in really bad shape, could barely move, but was still performing. With the accident, his show closing, and his disastrous response to the Screamont Attraction at Las Vegas Club, I feel for the guy.....

    Never saw his show

    How true this statement is

"Sometimes I miss the old Vegas when they would, at least, look you in the eyes when they lied to you. I recall the days where the casinos would try to help you out instead of making everything so f*cking hard. I'm used to a standard, although very low, that isn't here anymore."

Sad to see it go, but I agree with his sentiment.

Every trip out there it seems all they are trying to do is to discourage me from coming back. It used to be so easy for me to get things planned and accomplished without jumping through hoops and talking to fourteen managers.

if new jersey opens up Sports Betting I just might go out there instead. The first two years will be grand style treatment as everyone will be giving you everything to get you in the door.

    More from Jonathan's website:

JOHNATHAN CALLS IT QUITS AT BALLY'S

Just 3 months into his year's contract at Bally's, Johnathan has walked away from his deal due to lack of advertising on the part of Bally's.

    Johnathan states why he quit

"I was offered the room at Bally's through one of the producers of Tony and Tina's Wedding, a show that was in the same room with an earlier time slot.

They were having trouble drawing people in and leased the later time slot to me to save on rent and sell drinks during my show.

I accepted the deal on two conditions, both of which have been breached. The conditions were...

    1. That I would be getting cross promotion with their other hotels.
    2. That Ballys would help with soe in-house promotion.

With these 2 key elements it's hard to go wrong. There are 5 properties that make up Caesar's Entertainment which includes Ballys, Caesars, The Flamingo, Rio, Harrahs, Planet Hollywood, and Imperial Palace. That means my tickets would be on sale at all those other box offices and on their TV in-room ads too.

To make a long story short...none of this happened. It took 3 weeks after opening to get my face at my own box office. Here I am spending thousands of dollars a week paying for 4 billboards and I have to fight the whole time to get a few small signs around the casino that has ads everywhere for a show that's not even there.

That doesn't work for me. I've headlined in Vegas for 13 years and have never seen unprofessionism like this. Instead of being thrilled to have me there like they should have been, they made it impossible for me to get business.

I asked the producer of T & T's wedding numerous times and Bally's as well. Neither were helpful so I walked out. The lost the best act they've ever had and they probably haven't even noticed.

I'm tired of moving my show and tired of dealing with unprofessional casino heads and theater owners. I'm taking a break for a bit.

I've busted my ass doing a great show every night for 13 years here in Vegas and what has it got me? Millions of dollars, several homes, 25 cars, and a hell of great lifestyle. Thanks Vegas!

    PS
I'll be going on tour when I have the free time but I got projects to finish first.

I really don't understand Bally's mindset on this. Why would you bring a comedy act that is well known / hugely popular and will surely sell tickets and drinks and not advertise it.
Hell like others said he has been doing the same exact show he started. It was the same show on the HBO young comedians special(which was the early 90's i beleive) and years later on the comedy central special and his current show in vegas. But that wouldnt stop people from seeing it. I saw those specials multiple times and cracked up and would have liked to see him live in vegas. I just never could talk my friends into taking a cab to the Sahara to see it, but if it was right in the middle of the strip I'm sure they would have gone.

Well, if he's got millions of dollars, several homes, dozens of cars, and a great lifestyle, he will be able to get over this slump, if he could just cowboy up and be a big boy about it.:rolleyes2:
