I just read Amarillo Slim died - a poker great from way back when...I know he had a lot of other "history" underneath his hat. I remember seeing him eating in the Binion's cafe (the downstairs one that is now closed) during the last time WSOP was held at Binion's - had to be 2004 or 2005....

    Wow. RIP.

So who is left from the old poker greats? Doyle Brunson? I remember reading when Chip Reese passed away some years ago. His interview in Gambling Wizards had such a big impact on me.

Sorry to hear this. He actually did a lot to raise the awareness of poker in America. He made the rounds on lots of TV and Radio shows back when few people were aware that there was such a thing as a WSOP. A lot of it was self promotion but the game benefited a lot also.
