Those of you who know me from various message boards over the years know me for 3 reasons. #1. I'm a professional wrestler in my spare time. #2. I take ridiculously cheap trips and do my best to write trip reports on them tho lately I don't write of my exploits simply because I'm in town so much it has become boring. and #3. I'm a flight attendant who just may be flying you out to your trip.

Being as I'm a flight attendant and i'm in town a lot...I travel for free. I have one of the dancing girl drink glasses from The D that I've filled with beads from various vegas casinos and beads I aquired from other sources. I want a second cup and I have 2 days off.

I want to fly to Las Vegas first thing tommorow morning as the flight TO vegas has like 66 open seats so getting out there is not a problem. I ride the WAX downtown. Pickup a nice slushy drink to celebrate 30 pounds lost on my weight loss plan. Grab a few free beads from mermaids and la bayou to get me started then catch the bus back to the airport and try to get a ride back home the same night.

5 hour flight from orlando. 30 minute bus ride downtown. 4 or 5 hours in town. and a 5 hour flight back home.

Would you do it if the only cost to you was the 4 dollars round trip for the WAX bus and the cost of the drink and food?

I think part of the question has to be, what would you do other than that? I mean, if it's fly to Vegas or sit around in my jammies watching re-runs of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, I'd probably be inclined to go for it! I've been traveling a lot too though, so I can also see the perks of sitting around doing little or nothing for a day (but it does get old quick!!). I'd also consider what my schedule looked like following that....lots of easy flights or more challenging ones coming up to help me decide if I could swing it.

I would do it for the reasons you stated. Plus, you have a story that sounds highly unlikely yet is the truth. Better question is, why not? I cannot think of a good reason to not do it.

Doesn't sound crazy at all, if you don't have any other things planned on your day off might as well!

To answer your questions, you aren't crazy if you decide to do this. It's free for you, so why not? Personally, I wouldn't do it. To me, 11 hours of traveling plus the time spent in the airports wouldn't be worth the 4 or 5 hours I got to spend in Vegas. I consider the actual act of traveling to be more of a hassle than anything else. But you're a flight attendant, and probably have a very different viewpoint than me.

With the ipads, tablets and smartphones available that allow you to do the same activities most people would be doing at home - Hell Yeah!

Congratulations on the 30 lbs. You should go just for losing the weight!

For me, no decision to be made, get on the plane and have fun. I actually love flying, you would have 5 hours to read, watch a movie, listen to music, take a nap. Then have fun in Vegas, then get too do the reading, listening, napping thing again. I say go for it. Too bad timing is off, I will be there on Saturday, would offer you a ride back to airport, lol

Well, personally, I would book one night at Fremont or 4-Queens (easiest rooms downtown to get comped!). I realize that you're probably not going to see this in time - but if you do, I suspect you'll find plenty of open seats leaving Thursday morning to go back home. I would give myself a night of gambling.
(Even if you have to pay for the room, we're talking about less than $50 total! That's worth it to me, rather than flying when I'm dog-tired.)

Finally have the room booked! Look for me Feb 21-23

    sounds like a busmans holiday

I wouldn't do it as it seems you get plenty of chance to go.

I'd spend the day at home relaxing or jump in the car and head out to cocoa beach. anything that didn't involve an aircraft!!

    sure I would do it.

What is the worst that happens? You will always get some space ion the flight because you work there. Worse case scenario, you spend the night someplace. Lots of worse places to be stuck then vegas.

If it makes you happy just to spend some time in Vegas, then go for it, and congrats on the weight loss.
