Our home casino has been MSS for many years. We've always stayed here, free room, some FP each, and a food coupon book. No resort fees if there are any. Now I'd like to try the Cal but offers, except for special events like a slot tournament, are for MSS. My husband called Boyd and they said the MSS offers aren't transferable.

Is there a way to get an offer from the Cal? Or better still, does anyone know how to exchange a MSS offer for one at the Cal.

Guessing our play, it is probably 75% MSS and 24% the Cal. We save a little for the Fremont.

Just an aside, his level is 65,000. Don't know mine. A lot has expired since last trip in January.

Here is what I did. I activated my account on the boyd gaming website and under account settings I chose the cal as my default casino as I had MSS as mine and never got anything. Within 30 days offers were sent to me and although I am nowhere near your level of play I get comp nights and FB

call the host at cal----tell him/her that you get comps at mss and see if they can do anything for you-------if that doesn't work call the host at mss and see if they can set you up at the cal----been going to mss tor years and there are times they are overbooked and they wind up putting me up at the cal or the freemont----

I'll second that. I get my offers from Gold Coast. I tried the change account settings thing on the website and it did nothing for me. I even played the majority of my BOYD play at Fremont on my last trip to try to spark an offer. When nothing panned out I called the Fremont and asked for the host on duty. I only asked for 1 night but I asked for a Friday in October, she looked up my card and granted the free room.

Worst case, call the cal first and see if the host will comp you any days, then book MSS as well and you will get your free play. Ive booked Orleans and Gold Coast rooms during the same time frame, so you shouldnt run into the restrictions that you find with MGM and Caesars.

This scenario is different from the OP's. Gold Coast marketing is not linked to the downtown properties. They are all under the Boyd umbrella and on the same web site but that is where the link stops when dealing with marketing. I'm not sure how recent your trip was but the downtown properties have a significant lag time in generating offers and they base them on a three trip avg.

Do ya'll think it'd make any difference if I went online and changed my "home casino" to MSS from a non Las Vegas property?

And for tiers, is it a rolling 12 months or a calendar year?

Understood, im simply saying that calling the host on duty they can make a call to comp a room by looking up past play, taking the marketing piece out of it. My trip was in April, and I made the call this month to the fremont when they offered me the free night. My hope is now by having 1 night comped, with some heavy play it may get me on the radar for future offers from them.

B Connected points expire 12 months after you earn them. 6 months if you are a local.

I could be wrong but don't both properties use the same host? So maybe that might not work, but like I said I could be wrong: peace

For BConnected Tier points, it is a rolling 12 months, but the way they roll off, it is really practically 13 months. For example, tier points earned in August 2014 won't age off your account until September 1, 2015, which means right now all tier points earned from Aug 1 2014 through today are all "active" for determining your tier.

The man who my husband spoke to at the Cal said he was a host for all the properties. He said he couldn't do anything. When we're there, we will talk to someone directly to get the facts.

I had deleted all my offers from other hotels, since I figured I'd never need them. Will also keep them for next trip. Maybe it's time for a change.

Maybe they can cross book, but I know each property has their own hosts. I think Flusher and Turtleman would verify that.

Joe, we both like MSS yet would like to try the Cal. Next trip, we'll talk to someone who we actually know is a true host.

I agree with each of the three Downtown Boyds having their own hosts. We have an uusual situation. Our Downtown Boyd Home Casino is MSS; we got our cards there years ago. Our host is at the CAL. A little confusing as to how that came about. But, our Cal host once booked MSS for us, so I think they can cross book.
