OK, before you judge, hear me out. I took Allegiant my last trip out to Vegas, and I'm taking it again this one. It's cheap, and a direct flight.
Now, here's where the evil comes in.
I work the weekend shift up at work, Thurs-Sunday 8pm-7am. So, I get off work at 7am Mondays. Well, just for grins I went out to their site to see what the prices were like in May or so for another trip after my next one. Well, what is this I see?? They're flying back on Wednesdays and Thursdays now? March 2nd-4th is only $144 round trip selecting my own seats. And, I figure I can pack enough into my "personal" item.

So, for cheaper than I can go to Lake Charles, I can fly out Monday, come back Wednesday, and go back to work on Thursday? This is just evil..evil...evil.

And, it's even worse, I have 3 nights that I'm not using at the GG. Using 3 for my trip at the end of March.

I would ask y'all what I should do... but, I know you're all just a bunch of degenerates. :evillaugh

And, if all that wasn't bad enough..... just got my tax return.

That sounds like a real short trip?

I have a longer one set for the end of March. This would be more of a quick get-a-way. And, to keep me sane(ish).

It is a short trip, but it is about a 4 1/2-5 hour drive from Austin to Lake Charles...so the travel is just about the same depending on airport time, etc. Heck, Lake Charles is three hours or so from our house SW of Houston; I'd consider a trip to Vegas of that length for the right price!

    Vegas is Vegas...locals casinos aren't...

ronc: That's my thoughts as well. Room-$135, Gas-60 - Total: $195 to LA.

Round trip to Vegas? $145, and only about 40 min drive time.
And, you got to figure, when I'm catching the WAX, I'd be getting to the hotel out in LA. Heck, with traffic, I might already be at the tables.

I think you have your answer!

I really don't like the drive from east Houston to the border, three hours on Allegiant is worth it to skip that alone (not to mention, LAS VEGAS!!!)

I know, and that's why they're evil. They're making it too easy.

Yeah, you're not helping. But, I bit the bullet, and booked a trip for March 2nd-4th.
