I am booked for 2 nights on a weekend in december at the Freemont, just found for a couple $ less, including resort fee, I can book the D on Hotels.com . Which would be the better stay and why? im 50 solo male, act 25! So the noise from loud music at the D wouldn't bother me. I do plan on being in a sports book Sunday, not sure if either place has a decent one, but can always walk to Plaza or GN. Thanks for reply's!

The D rooms have been refurbished so probably in better condition. Fremont has a sports book, not sure about the D. If you are looking for the 20 something crowd then the D is probably a better place for you IMHO. Fremont rooms (especially the bathrooms) are smaller. Hard to go wrong with either location, esp since you just walk across the street to get to the other casino.

The D has a smaller sports book, run by William Hill on the 2nd floor, in between the bar and the Keno lounge. I'm partial to the D. A modest amount of play gets you some sweet comps.

New Orleans 7* retreat. Food, food, and more food . . . .
    Tentatively Tahoe or LV . . . .

Our room at the D had a very comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom vanity. I've read numerous reports that the bathrooms at the Fremont are tiny.

The D! Leave the Fremont to the 50 year olds who act 70!

That is the only bad thing about the D, the sports book consists of a few tvs, and about 4 tables and chairs in front of them, and the ticket counter to the right. I did watch the final game of the Stanley Cup there this year and won a couple bucks on it. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't grandiose either

I think the D has a resort fee, the Fremont does not, if that is something your concerned about.

Actually, the Fremont is always packed with young'uns and the old farts all having a jolly good time. The Fremont IS Vegas to me, where everyone of all ages and demographics are all playing together and enjoying themselves. This is one of the few places where you'll find the 70 year old grandma playing alongside the biker dude who is high five'in the 300 lb. Hawaiian in tank tops and slippahs at the craps table. Always busy, always fun.

The Cal is a place where maybe you'll find the 50 year olds acting like 70. Or maybe 80, lol! And sometimes that's o.k. for me too.

The D is o.k. but the music volume for this 58 yr. old is too much for the ears. I like playing upstairs.

This is the exact scene from swingers minus the 300lb Hawaiian.

I actually have a love for old gamblers, they always have great stories. Also it is like looking into the future.

Have never stayed at the D but I really enjoy the Fremont. As someone who likes to pop up to the room and back down again quickly, I don't think I would enjoy the elevators at the D. Apparently very slow. Like being able to come down in the morning for a quick trip to the Dunkin Donuts. That being said, the D is more fun for gambling but it is literally a few steps away. I have always found the rooms at the Fremont very clean and comfortable and big enough for one or two people. Bathrooms aren't that tiny. Seriously, either one is going to be fine.
