Five are in custody for the Caesars AC armed robbery including a former ,fired security guard and two other former casino employees. This had "inside job" written all over it.

And then got stranded in the Pine Barrens and ended up staying warmish with an old rug and eating ketchup packets.

I can't be sure but I don't believe there has ever been a successful robbery of a major casino where the robbers were not caught.

Paulie is one of the greatest TV characters in history.

I've watched The Sopranos beginning to end four times and it never gets old!

    Nope.

HBO puts out great shows...The Wire (I am on my sixth re-watch of that now...pick up new details each time), Boardwalk Empire (sadly ending this fall) and The Sopranos.

I remember during the finale of The Sopranos I lost my shit. I was living in the burbs outside of Philly at the time and I thought the directv service went out. I just couldn't believe it! Then the credits started and I was in shock for weeks. It ended like THAT?!?!

But now after time has passed I realize how genius it was to drop it like that. The discussions and theories have been great.

I held out hope that there would be a movie too...despite so many characters dying...but when Gandolfini passed away it ended all that.

As I understand it and correct me if I'm wrong but the show was loosely based on the NJ mob centered around Elizabeth headed by a guy named Simone De Cavalcante aka "Sam the plumber" .He operated a plumbing supply business close to where I grew up thus the nickname. One of the restaurants was supposedly inspired by an actual restaurant in the same town. The HBO series has the gang centered in Newark, but same area really. I always got a kick out of seeing a few places I recognized. The opening scene was perfect. Tony coming out of the Lincoln Tunnel and taking the Turnpike back to Newark,Elizabeth area. I understand the Pine Barrens episode was filmed in NY state and the Boardwalk Empire is filmed somewhere in NY not AC.

I honestly don't know the back story but I would be interested in reading about it as I love mafia stories.
