Found this on this site: http://blog.edreams.com/hand-luggage-restricted-items/ :

    Electronic Devices

In the beginning of July 2014, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary released a statement to increase security at international airports with direct flights to the United States. Now passengers may be asked to power up their electronic devices, including cell phones. Any powerless device will not be permitted onboard the aircraft.

What does this mean? Cant i bring a cell phone or computer onboard?

Just means you have to show the TSA that your device works. This was common years ago here.

Make sure anything you plan on bringing is fully charged and/or you have the charger for it so you can demonstrate that it is a fully functional device and one that hasn't been tampered or altered.

Don't blame USA TSA for the inconvenience.
