I am wondering if anyone has an insight on the criteria for getting airfare.

On my last trip I stayed at the Bellagio for the 1st time and wired USD45,000 as front money. I had arranged the stay via a host and had a Bellagio suite with a connector for 4 nights. I charged $1,100 to the room.

I am from the UK and am only able to make the trip once or twice a year. My tier points were 0 at the start of the trip 438,000 at the end. Express points started at $3 and finished at $764 (as far as I am aware none were used to cover any comps).

On the morning of checkout I saw the host on duty and was told my Blackjack rated play was $1629 for 17 hours. The host picked up the rooms and all the charges.

I asked the host if I could get airfare and his reply was not in this instance. I enquired as to what would be needed and his reply was that they look at it on a individual basis and there is no set criteria.

This strikes me as odd, as large corporations have rules for everything. I wasn’t expecting any airfare but just wanted to know what would be required in future.

I dont know what they offer for international players. But I once had a 20K loss at Bellagio and they practically laughed at me when I asked for airfare. They told me Bellagio as an individual property has a 50K loss for airfare, though they didn't say what the play requirement would be. One of the reasons why I stopped playing at Bellagio was their high requirements for comps.

    Your theo is the following:

    1629 x 17 x 60 x 0.5% = ~$8300

That is not a significant theo. I would think at least 15-50k theo is needed or a big loss.

Someone on the board can probably answer this question.

It's a straight loss, which some small theo component probably. The standards are always rising. That's just the host's way of telling you that he's not going to tell you. I think it's 15k minimum now at the Beau and used to be 10k.

They do not reveal such information. Somebody, somewhere in the back room has some discretion within some guidelines. They are not going to share that with a player.

Airfare is a HARD COMP - meaning they have to pay somebody else for that, vs internal comps like shows, food, room, booze that MGM pays for with a markup.

I've posted this a few times....
From my experience as an international player (I assume you are one too), you need at least a 50k credit line and 12500 theo to get 4000 in airfare (cash)
This is with Asian marketing. Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone. Some time ago I saw a post on this board that stated that express points are 5% of ADT (i think this was posted by Shifter but cant find it) so to ascertain ADT I checked the mlife web site to see the increase in express points and on this trip my express points increased $761 and on this basis the theo is 15220. Is the consensus that theo should not be calculated in this way?

I am an international (European) player and prior to my next trip I will make enquiries with the host and hopefully it will be as simple as Natedog posted. I will report back.

these days to get AF at Mlife casinos as a domestic player, you have to lose.

they almost don't do AF when you win unless you have a ton of extra theo.

but being from the UK, you should make sure that you're in the int'l program.

they're a whole separate department with separate hosts, so it's not as simple as just asking your current host about it.

FYI, we could always cut out the middle man, give me $50K and I will buy you a plane ticket.

I play at levels close to you and have gotten airfare offers to ither mlife properties so it does happen. But as stated on here, airfare is a tough nut to crack. I dont buy that it has to do with losses. Your thso needs to be about 25k

With CET, I used to receive airfare ($300-$500) thru my host coming from dc when checking out win or lose. This was during the early-mid 2000 years.

I do believe it's harder to get for domestic players. I asked my host about air fare at MB and he said to just check with him at the end of the trip.
