    Trips to Las Vegas:
Hello VMB'ers, I just booked flights for a 5 day Vegas trip. I have comp'd rooms at Orleans, the Coast and Rio, so I was planning on doing some hotel hopping. I also have an invite for a slot tourney at the Orleans for days 2-4. Cost of tourney is $109 and $49 for the spouse, and resort fees. If I did the tourney, I would stay at the Coast or Rio on days 1 and 5 for the comp'd rate. Would my odds or rates be better skipping the tourney and just staying comp'd? I would have more freedom skipping the tourney. I'm primarily a slot player.

Skip the tournament. A comped room is always better than one you pay for. Gold Coast also waives the resort fee on comps...I assume Orleans does as well.
Rio still charges the resort fee, even on comps, so if that's a factor, skip the Rio.

If it were me, I'd call the Orleans and ask them if they'll waive the tournament entry fee for you & let you & the wife stay on a comp. Most of the offers I get from Gold Coast are comped - both the room and the slot-tourney entry. They do want $49 if I bring a second tournament player with me.
It's NEVER "too early" to plan the Spring Trip!!

Our experience at Orleans is that the resort fee is waived on a comped room.

Good luck and have a great trip.

I agree comped room at GC and Orleans has no resort fee. Rio does not. If you can finagle 5 days between GC and Orleans that's what I would do. You can walk to the Rio easily (from GC) unless the weather is horrible. Skip the tourney but if you qualify play the free ones for young at Heart. You could have nice dinner for that price of the tourney. Also the breakfast buffets are cheaper and much better than the Rio.

Check both of your b connected accounts. You both may have comped rooms available so you may be able to stay at one place and not move. My wife and I both get comped rooms at the Orleans so we just link the reservations together when we get there and not have to move.
