So I will be spending my first night at Aria tomorrow. I have actually never stayed at any Mlife property before. From reading this board I understand
that MLife works off ADT. So I'm wondering how that factors into a one night stay. I like to break up my play. Some in the morning of check in, some late night, some before checkout. Will that count against me? Am I better off having my sessions over the course of a single "day"? What hours does the "day" reset for them?

Odds are I will play well beyond what I anticipate too. However, I would like to have a decent strategy in place that looks good on paper as its my first stay.

Please share your thoughts. If I am way off on this, set me straight.

I believe at MGM properties, they do not monitor the "day" for ADT purposes. They just take your total hours played and divide it by the number of days you are staying at the property. Sounds like you are only staying one day, so it should all count toward that

They base it off your trip whether its 1 day or 3 or 7 days. They figure out your theoretical loss and or coin in for slot players and base the comps off that info

you've confused CET with Mlife. CET works off of ADT. Mlife averages your play out across your entire trip.

With M life does the length of the drop matter, then? Is it divided by the number of days you have stayed or is it just listed as "per trip"? Whenever I have a long trip I will usually gamble heavily on the first few days and last few days but take it slow and low or no play during the middle (if I do this I stay in a paid room at M life properties). I assume this hurts my ratings a lot then?

it averages your play out between the number of days in your trip. you have to have nothing in the system for 7 days for it to start a new trip.

Please clarify. Assume my play is equal in all these scenarios. Let's say I bet $5,000 on the same game for each of these.

    a) Stay for two nights
    b) Stay for three nights
    c) Stay for five nights

Will my theo be the same for any of these? (at MGM)

yes, your total theo is the same. but they do calculate an ADW/ADT also that would be averaged over 2, 3 or 5 days. that doesn't really matter to a host, but I assume it does matter for corporate and hotel offers.

Isn't that what Average Daily Theoretical is? Or does CET do a lifetime ADT while MLife simply does an ADT for each stay?

every casino works on ADT/ADW. but it's how they calculate it that's different. at CET it's calculated each day and strictly based on the exact days you play - or so I've heard. at Mlife they average it over your entire trip and they combine trips within 7 days into one big trip.

Do the days of no play count in the ADT calc?

If you went every weekend...then those days during the week that you gambled zero would kill your ADT!

if you went every weekend you would be flagged as a local. I have had once where I went back to back weekends with a few days away in between and the trips were combined. however, my host was able to break them up in the system. not really sure how the whole ADT thing works if you weren't to break them up. I guess it would kill your ADT since it would average your play over 11 days or whatever.

Shifter, correct me if I'm wrong but in the above scenarios all that would matter would be the total hours played regardless of if they were played on one day or 6. Within a 7 day "trip" the hours, bets and game played would give a number to comp from. Whereas at CET they would figure it day by day? It's been my experience that the house wants more hours played rather than a higher bet if all the other variables are the same.
This 7 day "trip" might tend to negate that although they still could average it out to a daily if they were so inclined.

What if you're not staying at the hotel? I was in Vegas last month staying on a comp over at Wynn. I was about 16k tier credits short of Platinum at mlife. So I wound up gambling at Aria for 2 days playing both slots and pai gow and got ~20k tier credits.

Do they treat that as two separate 1 day trips?

No...this would be counted as a two day trip since your play was not seperated by more than 7 days
