    Hi all

I am about to book MGM for next August. I have always gone through a travel agent before but this time i am going to book it all seperatly.

On the MGM website it has a grand king room with a strip view that i fancy. However when i log onto Mlife i can get a grand king room for much cheaper than the equivalent on the MGM webiste.

So i am thinking of booking through Mlife to book. However on Mlife i dont get the option of strip view or smoking or none smoking. If i mentioned id like a non smoking strip view in the comments box as you book do yo think they will accomondate?

    thanks all

    Chris

When booking you can request what you want (non-smoking, strip view.....) but that is all it really is...just a request.
Basically your reservation is just to lock in a room.

It is when you check-in that your special requests like non-smoking and strip view is determined if it can be met.

smoking or non can usually be accommodated. the strip view is the reason that it's more expensive on the MGM website. the Mlife one is not a strip view if it doesn't say so specifically. only 1/3 of the rooms at MGM are strip view and everyone wants them, so obviously they are at a premium.

I don't think you will be able to actually complete the booking on the MLife website for an MGM Grand room for August 2014 - it's just too far out. You will get an error that says "promotion code not valid for property"

I've tried to book one for July and it won't let me. Thinking it might be just a website glitch, I called the MLife services phone number and the woman I spoke with wasn't able to do it either.

The difference in price you are seeing between the regular booking and the MLife price is for two reasons:

    1. The MLife site is applying a Tier discount
    2. It's not the same room.

My guess is the room you want is the "Grand Premier View King Room". If you book that on the regular MGM Grand site, it's never a 100% guarantee, but that will be the room you are booked into.

If you book a Grand King on the MLife website, the "Grand Premier View King Room" would be considered an upgrade, and you would have to arrange it at check-in.

My recommendation would be to book the room you want, now, on the regular MGM Grand site, then wait for promotion codes between now and next August. That's a long way off, there are always new promos coming out, but it's way too early for any for August 2014.
