Figured it's been a few months, gas is cheap and I need a reprieve (hopefully one that wins this time!). heading up Friday after work for one night, perhaps another, at Harrah's AC. Been vacillating between the Borgata and Harrah's and while the Borg is a superior hotel, I have better luck at the latter so hopefully I do ok lol.

Give me a holler if you'll be in the area :)

Good luck, esp. driving up from DC on Friday night. Hope you dont run into that construction mess on the Del Mem Bridge ,maybe it's done or they have it cleared by the time you get there.
We stayed at Harrahs last friday night ,no luck as usual. Place could use a little sprucing up,my son and friends stayed that night also and said the same thing.
We may go to the GN on sat afternoon but thats still subject to other activities that may get in the way.
Enjoy yourself and win some $$$.

Best of luck. Haven't made it to AC at all this year. Hopefully will remedy that in November.

Do me a favor if you are on the boardwalk and report on what has happened to The Revel? Was it torn down, sold, re-opened, re-named?
Do people go down that far or was it taken over by the homeless and beggars?
Also, whats the deal with the Taj?

I can answer some of that
Revel was sold - but not re-opened yet... There's been lots of fighting w/the power plant on that (check AC TA forum for more info on that)
Taj is still operating but w/issues of course

Here's an article from the New Yorker magazine titled the Death and Life of Atlantic City. It's a long read, but pretty good.
    http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/09/07/the-death-and-life-of-atlantic-city

As for Taj Mahal, Carl Ichan is the owner and there is a labor dispute going on, the property is still in Bankruptcy. It's an enormous property and like a cave because it's pretty empty most of the time. But, on my last walk through, they had $10 Blackjack also a hand pitch two deck game. The slots are as tight as a ducks a$$. I think in the fall as the summer crowds thin out, this place will close unless ownership and labor can come to an agreement. Without it, Ichan won't invest a dime. He also owns the Tropicana which received a $50 million upgrade to rooms and the gaming floor.

As for Revel, the new owner, Glen Straub is trying to work out a deal with the company who supplies the electricity, hot water and chilled water needed to keep the building operational. The power plant that had supplied Revel was charging high rates, it was a bad deal. Several casinos in AC get energy from small power plants that operate away from the property and pipe in chilled water in the summer for cooling, hot water or steam in the winter for heating and electricity year round.

Hey guys, posted my TR- actually won a bit for once who could have seen that haha. The revel is sad, a massive building that's pitch dark at night, people on the boardwalk don't even walk down that far during broad daylight. I never got a chance to go inside, hopefully Straub or whomever runs it will turn it into something but with the current controversy over energy costs/the separate energy building beside it who knows.

I walked through the Taj after hitting banana republic and like the last four times, it's almost empty during the day BUT at night it was pretty lively. I didn't walk to the trop this time but that place always gets a solid crowd, borgata and harrahs are always packed just like you would see in vegas.

Hitting Ballys in two weeks with my dad so that will be interesting haha

Heading to Caesar's AC in two weeks. We were there in July and went to Bally's, Caesar's and Harrah's. We had a great time...walked the Boardwalk, went to the beach, had some good food and won a little. I like AC more then Vegas because they have the type of slots I like. And if you are diamond or seven star member you will never go hungry.

Going back this Friday with my Dad for the first time (he was in my area for business so this will be fun). Changed my reservation from Ballys to Harrahs just now, really excited! Let me know if anyone will be there as I'll have a semi live report going haha
