    My Trip Report

I don't have a smartphone, so this TR won't be as fun as a lot of them are, but I know there are at least a few stat geeks out there so I decided to go ahead and do a semi-liveTR anyway.

    Flights:
Flying out of BOS tonight 5:40pm arriving 8:40pm. Weather's always a problem with the winter trips. Originally scheduled to fly out Sat morning on Southwest connecting through BWI (8,426 pts), and had a backup flight on Sun connecting through MCI (8,099 pts) but Monday they started talking about a weekend storm, so I checked and JetBlue miraculously had a seat on the 5:40pm Friday flight for $204, and it was an Extra Space seat, cause that's all they had left. So it took me about 30 secs to book that and take weather out of the picture. Third time in 8 winter trips I've been able to get surprisingly good prices last minute when moving up a day to beat a storm. All three times my original flights were cancelled. Return flight is Southwest through MDW (7,342 pts). So I was able to get good prices on airfare all around.

    Hotels:
    MGM Grand - Executive Suite 3 nights comped, 1 @ $88. $175 freeplay and $250 Resort Credit.
I booked this before they went non-smoking and it will be my last stay at MGM properties. It's just as well given the way they are going with comps. Since I won't be able to take them up on any more room comps, I'm going to play as little as I can stand.

MGM Bankroll: $175 freeplay. I haven't decided yet how I'm going to wash the freeplay, go big on a $25 machine, go small on a $1 machine, or go really small on a quarter VP machine. Whatever I convert it to, I'm going to take and see if I can quick hit double it up 2 or 3 times maybe at mini-bacc or BJ. If that doesn't work then probably hit my credit line for a grand, but that's the absolute max, and that's going to include taking some over to Orleans for a few hours to plant a stake there and get some offers.

Cosmo - Terrace Suite 4 nights partially comped (paying a total of $500 in upgrade fees).

    Cosmo bankroll: $4k

Caesars - Forum King, 5 nights comped, 2 paid (total $183). $200 freeplay. I also have a $100 dinner voucher coming. They would put me in Augustus or Octavius, but I'd just as soon be in the Forum Tower. I always end up pounding really hard the first 2 or 3 days at Caesars and then recuperating the rest of the way.

    Caesars bankroll: $5k

    And away we go...

We Stayed in one of the newly remodeled Julius Tower Rooms and it was very convenient to the casino elevators are right by the cashiers cage. The room is similar to Forum tower but everything is new. I would recommend that over Forum tower.

I LOVE long trips! Subscribed! Congrats on the "winning" already with being able to change your flight and get out of town BEFORE the storm comes! I love Jet Blue too. Great move all around. Looking forward to your report!

Flight was on time, stopped at an ABC Store just off Tropicana for minor supplies, regular check in line was long then I noticed they had a Gold/Platinum line with nobody in it (I'm still Gold). Checked in, minor discrepancy with the reservation, fixed. Bags arrived. About to head down to see if I can get something to go before Grand Wok closes, and activate freeplay. I decided freeplay is gonna be either up to 8 spins on a $25 machine or 2 spins on a $100 machine.

Re: smoking. All I smell in my room is burning meat. The vent in the bathroom is passive but strong. The windows have those little vents. Smoking discreetly isn't going to be a problem.

    Food secured.

$15 BJ at 6:5 and Dealer hits soft 17.

    3:2 is $50 and I didn't check S.

They took the lowest variance $25 - $100 slot out of the HL room, but some chick hit for $11k+ while I was scoping it out, so it's gonna be either $25 or $100 pulls with the freeplay, results shortly.

    Results:

Zero for 8 on the $25 machine, a total pissoff.

Since I'm trying to low play MGM, but I can't stand the boredom, took a $1,000 marker and went to the $1 DaVinci machine at 5 lines. Nothing nothing nothing nothing.

People who who play DaVinci know it's just a matter of time, and it has it's share of shitty bonuses, and I got one. And it pays out better on a regular bet a lot of then of time than a bonuc.

But you need firepower. So I took out some firepower and went back to $ 20 and finally booyah. 4 retriggers and 90x overall. This one's for Diana:

Max loss was going to be $1,000 abd I got fucking close. The handpay puts me +$620 overall.

I'm smoking in the room, it's not the same as pedophilia

I love Vegas, Jesus Christ do I love Vegas.

So did the +$620 or whatever go to waste?

    No it did not.

The vaunted Mansion was empty. I always thought it was a totally separate room, but shifter set me straight so I strolled through, and nobody's there.

So I ride the rail for a bit, these two Asian ladies are just getting killed in the chop, so I sit down off table, and they're still getting killed, but they're taking forever, just losing very hand they play.

I don't play bacc much and the only way I play is to bet on the previous winning hand, so I finally step in and the ladies don't give a shit, they're not letting them turn the cards, so I ask the box if I can lower the min to 25 and she eventually says OK, it's the only table going, so I take a marker and change the ladies' luck. But they're mostly followintg the cockroach road or whatever, so they only get in on 1/2 the bets.

So just as we turn things around, I light up a cig and stand well back from the table, but the butch dealer has to bitch about smoking (after welcoming her with a winning dealer tip) See ya!

    +$100

+$720, over and hopefully fucking out.

I really don't want to turn this into a smoking thread, so I'll just say I made my reservation at MGM Grand before they implemented the no-smoking policy, and I'm not generally a rule breaker, that's why I'm not staying there any more.

If it was a smoking room for twenty years its always going to stink. Just don't let housekeeping find the butts.
