    My Trip Report

I wasn’t there but I can give you a quick trip report run down from the phone calls and texts I exchanged with my husband the last couple of days.

My dad and my husband flew out Sunday night on the 10pm flight from DFW. Got out of here right before thunderstorms hit. The flight was empty –only about 45 people on the entire plane. They flew a 738 I believe. The agents were able to give both my dad and my husband each a row of three to themselves.

Cab to NYNY and it seems like it didn’t take long at all. Flight landed around 1040 Vegas time and by 1115 Vegas time I was getting texts that they were already up in the room. They were on room comp but I don’t know yet if my husband was successful in getting the resort fee waived also.

Sounded like they played a little that night in the casino, mostly slots…hubby down $80 in less than an hour.

Next day, they had Starbucks for breakfast…2 coffees and a muffin or something was over $20. They went over to the MGM to try the lion’s share but he said that there was an Asian man sitting there very comfortable with about $150 in the machine. About an hour later they walked back by, he was still there and his credits said over $500. Not sure if he put more money in or was up from what was in there earlier. Needless to say, they didn’t get to play it that day as Asian man was not moving.

I think next was PHo and Bally’s where my husband fell in love with Dolly Parton. I was getting texts about it and although there were no huge wins, it was enough to keep going on $20 for a while. Dolly wasn’t being as nice to my dad tho for some reason. He said Willy Wonka was brutal.

They had lunch at Margaritaville and said that the burgers were really good. 2 burgers and 2 beers…around $45. More play for a while and I’m not sure what they spent the greater part of the afternoon on. I do know that they had some pretty decent luck at Bally’s on different slots…mostly Dolly to the point where by dinner, my husband had the same amount of $ in his pocket (but not ahead) as he did when he left in the morning and that was after buying breakfast. (lunch was on Dad this time). Feeling proud of this accomplishment, he decided to treat my dad to fish and chips at NFI inside NYNY and a Guinness each. My husband’s first Guinness…I’m not sure how he got talked into that. I’m a big dark beer drinker and he’s always telling me how gross that is. But he did say that he did like it and the dinner was good. 2 fish and chips, 2 beers bill was about $65 I think.

From what I gathered, they hung around there for a while and played. My husband did ok until he lost $100 at blackjack real quick and the rest of the day’s money after midnight in slots. Vegas giveth, Vegas taketh away.

Yesterday I honestly don’t know what they did in the morning, or where they ate breakfast. I know they went back to Bally’s since it proved to be lucky the day before and they walked the Caesars Forum shops. I was told that my dad was doing pretty good on one of the Godfather machines. A little while after lunch they made their way on the bus to visit the Pawn Stars pawn shop. I got texted a cute picture of the two of them standing outside the sign. Afterwards they ended up downtown and lost money on just about everything they touched. Per my husband’s words “we couldn’t BUY a win today!” Dinner was the $8.99 prime rib special somewhere and I was told it was very good. They caught an Elvis impersonator show on Freemont and enjoyed that for a while before and after the light show. The bus ride back to NYNY took an hour and they just crashed as soon as they got back. Probably a wise choice since it was such a rough day.

This morning breakfast was at La Salsa and their $3.99 special. Today is my husband’s 39th birthday so he figured he would try a few slots one more time to see if that would bring him luck. I haven’t heard anything so I’m guessing, nope. Their flight leaves at 3pm Vegas time so I assume now they are getting their bags and will be cabbing it back to the airport soon. Another trip down. My husband said he had a good time with my dad. By the sound of it, they both had a great time this trip even if neither of them struck it rich! It’s always good to get away.

Hey good TR for not even being there huh? Can’t wait to see the videos my husband took with the Flip, I’ll put them up on YouTube and link to them tonight.

Good TR for not being there lol. I am a bit shell shocked at the prices though. Here we have timmies and a extra large coffee is just over $2 (not sure on actual price i don't drink it).

I can get my husband unlimited shrimp deal ($20 here in canada) plus my normal entree and dessert for the $45 it cost for lunch. Not used to those prices where i am from.

When we went to Orlando the prices were like that but it was included in our plan and we did character meals so i expected it. We had to pay the tips but that was no problem.

I guess i will stick to subway and denny's while we are there. I do not eat much at all and can not have sauces and spices so i don't want to be wasting money at places that do not work for me.

Just got done watching all the vids, got some good ones but its going to take me a while to get them uploaded. Lots of the Dolly machines and of the Downtown Elvis show. He came home with $40. Lost another $60 at the airport waiting for the flight!
