    My Trip Report

Another Thursday Night so that must mean heading out to gamble and have dinner :) I will be heading down the Atlantic Cityyyy Expressswayyyy, looking for the Golden Nuggetttt sang to the tune of love shack. Ok nevermind with that. After having to give up tickets for this Sunday's Eagles game against the Saints, (trust me I am not broken up), but playing it up to the wife I am devastated so the only thing that could console me would be to gamble... and she bought it :wink2:

I am going for the Marina Trifecta, with having been at Borgata several weeks ago then Harrah's last week, I figured it has been over 3 years since I was at the Nugget, just about when they completed the reno possibly and I figured I would do a quick report along the way since I have not seen the full reno myself, I figured others may be interested in the pics.

Dinner will be at the Chart House, along with some gambling. So three outta four weeks hitting AC and exactly 3 weeks shy of being in Vegas, I may have some stories for that Biggest Degen Stories Thread :evillaugh

Hitting the highway at 5PM, look for updates soon after. (sorry, thinking after typing all this I should have rolled this into my Harrah's thread, oh well, live an learn I guess). Hope anyone checking in is having a great day so far also!

One interesting side note to the Nugget, (interesting to me at least :) ) is since it opened, I forget actually how long ago now as the Trump Castle then the Marina, it had become my parents home base casino from the plaza. Over the last few years until their passing, I would be the one taking them on the day trips when they could no longer drive that far to stay over. What is interesting now that I remember it was I had an almost monthly view of the decline of the Marina over the year from say 2007-2010 or whenever it eventually was sold. They had literally no restaurants left open, one cafe that was at one time very good that then only opened for partial hours, then merged in the final throes with the buffet.

What I remember going in there with my parents was how dreary and down it was and I ended up hating going in there, but no matter how I tried to get them to go over to the Borgata or the boardwalk, the dealers and slot attendants knew them and they liked it even as dreary as it had become, so that was where I took them. I am looking forward to seeing the full change makeover the place has had.

Also the last time I was there the new owner was there with his yacht named the Boardwalk and we saw his private helicopter land on the back pad of it which was very cool. Maybe it will be there again for some pics.

My workday is almost done along with most of my work since starting at 4 am ad now the final two hours are dragging... hence my rambling in this thread :)

GN is awesome now. Stayed there as Marina. Then stayed there as they were making the change from Marina to Nugget. And stayed again after they'd made the full change. It's a great place. Still not too keen on the Michael Patrick's place or whatever it is - but I like Grotto and Chart House.

Great pics! Personally never have been to Atlantic city. How does it compare to Vegas? I tend not to get off property much, so the outside parts don't factor much for me as long as there are a few properties worth visiting.

Thanks guys! For us AC is completely different than Vegas but being 45 mins away makes it not a vacation for us like Vegas.

Yes broncofn is correct, Borgata is realky nice and as close to the vegas experience you can get in AC.
