You cant make stuff up,. A shipment of guns from Ruger meant for the gun shop in the Hard Rock LV was mistakenly screwed up by UPS and sent to a guy in the town next to me .
Now the law does state that if someone sends you a package by mistake you have the right to keep it but, firearms possesion in NJ w/o proper permits is serious stuff. If the guy would have just called the police he'd be in the clear .
Not intended to be any sort of gun rights discussion please!

A shipment meant for Las Vegas went to NJ? And you used "would have been." Is he in jail now for keeping the guns? How did the police discover this? Please elaborate.....

Not to be a total snot here, but I can actually imagine it with UPS.

We use UPS a LOT, and 99.9% of the time everything gets there and on time. However (comma) when they screw up they screw up BIG, as in wrong city/state/continent/planet bogus "refuse to accept" etc.

Last big one was a package to me at work which was supposedly refused TWICE and timestamped at a time before the mailroom guy was even there! We finally had them re-send with FedEx. Another (ObVegas) was some literature for a trade show at the LVCC several years ago. One box got there fine, the other got to the wrong UPS depot in LV, delayed TWO DAYS. They could tell us EXACTLY where it was, but NOTHING (my co-worker even tried to bribe one to go out of procedure and just get it for us) would get them to simply deliver it to the correct destination without having them go through their slow-molasses procedure of getting from the wrong depot to the right one and on to us!

On a side note, I read there is going to be a gun shopping channel on cable TV starting up, apparently it will operate a few hours a day in the evenings to start. Nothing better than buying your weapons from the comfort of your living room.

Many people already purchase guns from the comfort of our living rooms. However no matter where you purchase the gun they ship it to a local gun store, you go to the store and they run a background check on you and then if you pass you get your gun. It is illegal for them to ship the gun directly to you the consumer.

At least you avoid those pushy door to door gun salesmen that way!

    Good Luck!

Most states require interstate firearms shipping to be handled by someone with a FFL. Not sure about the laws in NJ but the receiver could be arrested in HI if he didn't return the guns.
